No. Besides, it's another techno innovation to fix a problem that doesn't exist, doesn't work that well, and finally breaks.

Just ask Mercedes owners.

Only a speed sensor, not a "visual" rain sensor. Try it on your driveway. When you're at a stop with the wipers on INT (with the delay set to the longest setting), play around with the foot brake ... let off the brake, the wipers sweep. Brake again to a stop and let off the brake again, the wipers will sweep again.

Had one on my Jetta, and it seemed to have a life of its own. Would start up sporadically, swipe consistently with the rain, then stop - leave my windshield drowned - then start up again. Sometimes it would not operate for an extended period of time, despite a slow drizzle, then suddenly spring into hectic action. If that is typical of where the technology is, it ain't worth it.

The intermittent setting will get you a faster response as the car accellerates, meaning that the "intermittant" is repsonsive to the increased density of rain on the windshield. This works reasonably well, but doesn't deal all that effectively when the rain is sporadic and intermittant, or when it varies radically in intensity.

My buddy has one onhis Mazda 3. At first I was jealous because I thought it was a neat feature. But he's told me what a pain in the a$$ it really is. Never seems to work properly, only going on sporadically and not when needed. I haven't heard from him this week but I can only imagine that it works even worse with snow.

Does the JDM Accord have it?

In that famous Honda Accord commercial where they have all these Accord parts doing stuff in sequence, there's one part where a rain sensor is activated and the wipers go on.

Don't know about JDM. I do know that it's available in Europe, on at least some of the Euro Accord variants.
