I've decided im going to tint the windows at Ziebart - 32% Solar Gard High Performance Quantum Tint.

Has anyone experienced GPS or radio reception problems because of the metallic layer in the window tint?

 

ive had my 20% llumar tint sine a month after i got the car, and never had any probs with it.
i do have trouble with the navi disc not being able to read when im bumpin the music though

 

I don't have nav, but I've had no problems with my 20% llumar either. Saw absolutely no difference in AM or FM reception.

Llumar works great with no problems.

 

I just recently got an 08 tsx with a navi and I asked the sales rep that if i got tint would it affect my GPS. He said that the antenna is on top of the car so you are good.

 

The XM antenna is on top of the car. The GPS antenna is actually under the rear deck of the car. You would need to worry about it when getting tint. Just get a non-metalic tint and you should be fine.

 

Oh really? Dangit! What lies they tell me at the dealership. Well, I know there is another type of tint besides the metallic which is the Ceramic. I think that suppose to be safe for people with gps systems. My friend has a new G35 and got the ceramic tint which was like $300.
