im trying to get window tint on my tsx and i was wondering
what is legal in glendale,ca????

 

What is legal in Glendale, CA is the same as what is legal in the entire state CA

70% on the front window (which is what TSX already has) and anything on the rear windows and glass.

 

Just do 35% all around.

 

In CA you cannot have anything on the front two windows......unless you want to do what you want to.......

 

I'm from Cali too. All of my friends had 20-35% and nothing happened yet?! If you really dont want to go against the law then you shouldnt. I really dont see the point of getting tint only the back?? Its not like you are riding on the back seat..unless you got a child or something?? plus, 35% is so bad....

Hey, I am in Woodland Hills and I have my windows tinted on my TSX. I also have the black interior so it appears darker than on a light interior. Anyway, I have 5% on the back windows and I believe either 20 or 30% on the front ones (I forget). Although they are lighter, it blends extremely well and looks really nice. Basically, the tint I got is right on the line. Any tint on the front windows are considered illegal, but I got a shade where cops wont really hassle me...only if they want to be a d**k. I really wanna say that I have 30%...that number sounds right. The guys that tinted my windows tinted my previous cars and a bunch of my friends cars so they are really really good and very helpful when it comes to advice. They also come to you and stuff so you dont have to do anything. For example, for this car...they came to my office and took my keys and were done in like 45 mins/1 hour. There was no inconvenience whatsoever. Anyway, hope this helps. Eventually I will get a picture up on here...Just gotta figure out how :-)

 

Is there a tint gallery amongst this TSX forum? It would be nice to see different shades on different colors/mods. Maybe xizor could host the gallery on his Flickr account like he did with his TSX Wheels Gallery, lol. Similar concept and similar benefit to those of us who want to tint but don't know how much to do it for various colors. Just a thought.

 

im from cali, and I have 35% front and 20% on the rear... the reason I did it that way was to display a difference of the front and rear and I havent been bothered by the cops ever (my 2 previous cars have the same tint %)

 

I'm in cali. My accord coupe has 20% on it...and you know how big coupe windows are. I've stopped beside cops plenty of times, and none of them have been bothered by it.

My accord sedan had dark tint as well, but it was the reflective kind. I got pulled over fast. (Reflective as in...it's so silver looking, you could use it as a mirror).

Depending on your area, the cops don't really care much. Some people do 35% in front and 20% in the back, to make it look lighter. If you're that concerned, just go with 35% all around.

I liked 20%...it doesn't get as hot, but it's so hard to see at night. I hated having to open my windows on cold nights

 

ya i had 15% on my rear windows on my 95 BMW 525i and nothing in the front, but it didnt look too good so i guess ill go with 15 on rear and 25 on front

Slightly off the topic but I had a question about tint in general. Is it possible to mixed tint types? Would it be worth getting...say formula one pinnacle for your back window (for no navi and radio interference) and something cheaper for the doors. It seems inevitable there will be scratches and replacing the tint would be cheaper obviously if the doors where a lower grade.
