Why is the recall only on Automatic transmissions?

I heard about the recall on TSX's when I bought. Luckily, my car had been chacked and it was okay. When I spoke with Patience, she told me, because she had to dealer trade for it, that if I got a manual transmission, it would be easier to trade for because it'd be clear of the recall. I got an automatic anyway. But, what was it all about? Does anybody know?
-curious-

Somewhere in this thread http://www.acura-tsx.com/forums/show...&threadid=7790 is your answer.

Did you mean to say "CAN'T" be judged by their post count?

Ok maybe i'm losing something over the internet but I don't remember the "Special PDI Inspection and Stop Sale Order" ever becoming a recall. If it did, then I stand corrected.

It is not a recall. I'll make it clear once again. The "repair" kit will be here in the next week or so. Nothing like an extra $3000 to the service totals for each of the 4 cars we've got that fell under that little memo.

That's what I thought.

Kurt, does Acura reimburse you for the repair or is it up to the dealer?

It is possible that Acura might give a discount on the cars that had to be repaired?

Kurt,
What does the "repair kit" consist of? I had read that the problem was a bad casting of the transmission case that may cause leaks. I would think a total replacement of the transmission would be required to fix properly, no?

They have to replace the transmission case. The kit probably includes gaskets and other minor hardware.

Thats what I figured, Just thought it strange that someone would mention a sales rep by name as if everyone on the board knew who it was. I thought I was the only one who did'nt know Patience

To find out who Patience is, read the Metro Acura threads. Pretty entertaining stuff.

OMG! Coachfraley's been calling me by my salesman's name because I defended her & he had a bad experience with her. Or so he says. It turns out he works for another dealer, himself & he was never a customer of hers, anyway! He's thrashing the other dealership to get business. Smart, but not smart enough. How long have you been a member? How many ID's do you have? Nice try, thanks for playing.

TSX Girl, How would you know if I bought a car there or not?

This is getting very strange.

tsxgirl91760 above you posted that he has never been a customer of Patience Summers. How can you know this information? In the other thread you said:

My point that I'm trying to make is that either you are Patience Summers or that you lied about her not being able to talk about past customers. Want to explain this one?

There is no way coachfraley was/is her customer because he's trying to get me to buy from Riverside...He's a carsalesman.

WOW!
Hello. I heard and had to come & make an appearance. Thanks, K. I wish you hadn't shown the price I gave you, but that's ok. Anyhow, I see a lot of deception here and that is never my policy. I view myself as more of a consumer advocate. I have no idea who coachfraley is, but if he/she is at Riverside, that's ok because I've got a friend over there that will figure it out if it is... Riverside is a bit more ethical than that. I could really not care less about anybody's opinion that is rooted in dishonesty. If anybody would like to see me prove him/her wrong, just Email me @ cpatience_summers@yahoo.com and see what sort of treatment you get. I'd love to prove him/her wrong.

Patience, PLEASE stop posting. I am starting to get embarrassed for you. Please just go back to work and pretend you never saw this forum. You are only making things worse for yourself. If you look at the original thread, your name only appeared once in one thread. Now it plastered all over the forum. Please just leave this forum to the car buyers. Eventually new posts will replace these and everything will be ok.

is that a threat? So- you're entitled to your opinion and I'm not entitled to mine? and K isn't entitled to hers? I won't let lies be posted about me and not say anything.

I don't ignore anything and I see you and coachfraley as one and the same. I don't know about K, but I am happy she cared enough to tell me. If you want to be reasonable, we can chat; however, if you're going to slam me for being honest or having more cars out than you, I think you ought to think about why. If you were a customer of mine & you are not happy, why?
