1. Honda's reputation of great reliabilty: I had a Saab 9-3 and I had that thing in the shop around 12 times (lost count after a while) in the 11 months that I had it. The saab was a sweet looking vehicle with a lot of torque but I got tired of scheduling my life around the saab. I wanted a sport sedan without the hassle of dealing with the high maintenance. Also, check out your maintenance costs for the other competitors in the market.
Saab
Oil Change: 110.00
Front Brake & Rotar Replacement: 550.00
BMW?
I'm not sure but I'm sure someone on the forum can attest to the maintenance costs on a BMW.
2. Great overall value: you get a lot for your money on the TSX (although a little more torque and ALL leather would have been even nicer)
3. It a good looking car
4. Made in Japan vs made in US?: I didn't even consider this when I bought the TSX, Honda's been making reliable cars in the US for a long time and I don't think this matters. However, it would matter if Honda decided to open up a factory in China or Mexico.

At the begining, I was dead serious to get myself a TL one of these days (I was driving a Oldsmobile ...) However, went to the Chicago auto show, saw the TL and TSX side by side. I was sold that the TSX is a better value.
In addion to that, we came aross a Certified Pre-owned 04TSX with only 8000 miles on it !! It is almost like new car but much cheaper. So I am sold and got my PWP TSX home.
I have to say the reliability of Honda cars and the features is the main reason for the purchase. Also, the in-line 4 has a better gas milage than my V6 Oldsmobile. In addional, the 60/40 fold down seat is very handy for some larger items in the trunk.
In summary, the car win on the practical side and also give me a little "fun" time behind wheels.

Because not too many people drive this car in my part of the world so I really get a kick out of that - plus smoking german car on the highway is the cherry on the cake!
Also I think this is the best looking car in its category - only other car i'd like is the TL A-spec or another TSX/Euro Accord (but with navi this time!)
