Who Uses Steering Wheel Locks?
I am thinking about getting like a steering wheel lock, (something like "the club") and was wondering if they really work on securing your car from theft.
thanks!
thanks!

At one time they were bad for the airbags, but not sure now.

LoJack is good to ensure your car is found, but won't help find the parts that have been stripped by time the cop gets off his ass to go find it.
Doesn't the TSX have an engine imobilizer, which prevents anyone from starting the car without a key?

if you're gonna get one of those devices, you should get the one that goes around the brake pedal. that one is solid, and it's in such an awkward place that it would be a hassle for a thief to try and get it off. also, don't leave the valey key in the car. some people in this forum had their car stolen and when people asked how they said that they left the valey key in the car. i just don't leave any valuable in my car, they may break in but they can't steal it unless they have a key.

I use the club. I know that a thief with a hacksaw can probably go through that thing in about a minute but if there is another car parked next to mine that doesn't have the club then I'm hoping the thief will want to save himself that minute.

I use the club for my Integra and who knows if it really "works" or not, but I'm sure it does fend off some would be thieves. I'm thinking that your common rookie thief would walk away from a car that had the club on because they want to get in and get out. But obviously for the more seasoned thief, they would have the tools on hand to take care of anything that got in their way. For me, I put it on just as extra security. In the end, if a thief wants your car, they'll get it. Whether it be the first attempt of the second attempt, they'll find a way.

i have a club under the seat just in case i have to park in a "bad" neighborhood to give the car some added deterrent. otherwise, i don't bother and hope the immobilizer is as good as honda claims...
also, when i was wrestling with the club, it kept hitting the horn and sounding off, so that's an added anti-theft benefit...

a Club will not deter a PROFESSIONAL car theif. However, the presence of a the acura alarm PLUS the club, will deter just about any other jackass looking for a quick buck or a joy ride.
It may be worth it, depending on the areas you park your car. If you park in bad areas or high crime areas a lot, getting one couldn't hurt.

When using the FOB to lock the car, pressing once will lock the doors and the OEM alarm will arm in 30 seconds, pressing twice will immediately arm the alarm and confirm with a blip of the horn. When parking in a strange neighborhood I always press twice to get the honk (for the benefit of anyone watching)
