Where do you keep your car?

I feel like all of my inquiries are completely pointless. but for some reason I'm totally compelled to ask like-minded car enthusiasts like yourselves...

I ask this question because I'm totally paranoid and compulsively addicted to keeping my new TSX in pristine condition... here's my question:

Where do you keep your cars? Inside a garage or out on the street or driveway?

I don't have the luxury of using my garage since it's occupied by everything else except for my car! Honestly though my paranoia is even more intensified as it starts to snow outside since this is the first time the car has been subject to the elements *4 days old 100 miles! Should I be concerned about the snow/rain etc..? Again, would love to have it in a garage but its just not possible. Seriously though, just how bad is snow build up on the car? I know the dangers of tree sap and that sorta thing, but there are elements I suppose you just can't control.

Thanks for the advice.

TSX with TL Switchblade Key Mod

As stated as his video Title.

I keep mine outside, even though it's like 20 degrees outside. I woke up a few nights ago and my neighbors G35coupe (Black) was spraypainted with the words "fuck you" on the sides, which made me really upset. I'm afraid they're going to get my car soon enough or any of my parent's cars. Try to keep it in a garage if you can.

I'm in the same boat as jiwphish... too much crap in the garage to park my car in there. So it sleeps outside at home, in below 0F temperatures... Still working on getting the stuff out of there.

At the office, it sits indoors in a heated garage.

When I moved to Tennessee from Canada, I made a point to look for a house rental with a garage so that I can keep my baby there. The extra $100/mth is worth it in my opinion.

Climate controlled garage with my wifes suv and my other baby. The TSX does get kicked out of the garage when the folks visit though.

Temperature controlled heated garage - always 19C in there. I had to kick out the bike for the season cuz it's too small for both loves of my life.

Ouch, that sucks!! I moved home too, and have what would have been my mom's spot in the garage, but her car's basically the beater, so it stays out in the cold, lol.

Just happy I didn't have to go anywhere today. It's nasty out there.

I am paying the extra $100/month for a garage at my apartment.

Just bought a townhome (woohoo!!) with an attached garage. She sits outside when I visit my parents, but it's a nice neighborhood in LA (Lower Alabama) so no worries there.

I have also noted that keeping it garaged helps to keep it clean longer. No condensation at night = no water spots in the afternoon.

Nice. I'm living at home now to save money for a down payment, but within the next year, I'll be looking to buy my own place, and will be looking for a townhouse with a garage. I need the storage and I hate having my car outside like I did at my last apartment.

side street. we rent an apt in queens. prices for a garage or space are ridiculous. i'm totally paranoid about my car getting hit, scratched, etc...but what can you do?

all this morning i just dreaded the prospect of salt and sand getting all over the driver side of the car b/c it's snowing/sleeting like crazy. it'll need a good washing when it warms up next week.

i really want to buy a house.

I have a garage but, sadly, just like the OP we have everything but the car in there. We started to clean it out last weekend and hope to have enough of the stuff organized to fit the TSX in by the end of next week. In the meantime, and for the last 2 years its been sitting in the driveway.

outside in the apartment parking lot.

so far, i haven't had any problems with vandals *knock on wood* or dents. there are other nice cars in the complex so everyone seems to be careful and kind.

but it is harder to keep clean. i try to park next to the garages so i only have to worry about one car parked next to me.

i wish i could spend $100/month for a garage, but it's just not worth it to me...i'd rather use that money towards retirement or savings.

Drives me nuts seeing anything but a car in the garage.

LOL. Fooled ya for a second.

Living with the 'rents isn't ideal, but it's not terrible, and I should be outta here within a year. It's a hard transition from being on your own to going back home, though, for sure.

No matter how old you are, your parents still think of you as their little girl/boy. They still have those same rules, feelings, attitudes. They drive me crazy, even when I just go over and visit for a day.

Outside in an enclosed private parking lot. People in the DC area apparently don't believe in garages...

Garage at home and work. The TSX only sees daylight for about 3-5 hours during the week and maybe 2-4 hours total on the weekends.
