when to change spark plugs

i've been reading some posts about people changing their spark plugs at 30k, but the owners manual says around 110k. Any on this issue?

Plugs should be fine as per the recommendations.
Ours (European Accords) is 75K miles - mine has 79K and long overdue its 75K service, but it still drives fine.
Probably going to go for the Denso ones - not sure whether the longlife (another 75K) or the performance ones.

Stock plugs are either Denso or NGK Iridiums. They will last 75k miles.
Their part numbers are:
NGK - IZFR6K11
Denso - SKJ20DR-M11

They are basically the top of the range of street plugs. Any higher and you are looking at multiple prong plugs or the ones with extra thin electrodes (which last only about 45-50k). The extra thin ones are 0.6mm for NGK (Iridium IX) and 0.4mm for Denso (Iridium Power). If you are going for normal iridiums, both brands are similar. However, the Denso Iridium Power should give a better spark as it requires less voltage but they have a shorter lifespan.

I just saw a ad from Bosch with its new plug called Bosch Platinum Ir Fusion. Looks same as Platinum 4 and it says they mixed iridium and platinum.

Cheers arronng - that's exactly what I was referring to.
The Iridum (standard fayre in the 2.4 engine) Power are the ones I'm going for as opposed to their long-life version.
Where'd you get the info on life expectancy of them? And I presume you're measurements are in miles rather than kilometres?
I don't recall seeing any mention of life of the Powers on the Denso site - just good info on mpg and bhp increases, although I am talking that with a pinch of salt.

It's in the service manual that I have. The numbers were originally in kilometers but I converted them since everyone uses miles on this forum. NGK even claims that their long life iridiums can reach up to 120,000 miles (192,000 kilometers)

I saw the Denso Iridium Power spark plugs here: http://www.densoiridium.com/spconstruction.php

The ground prong's design is interesting as well as it has a groove in it.
