What's up with TSX Leases?
My sister and I have had priced out everything she liked (BMW 325xi, Audi A4 1.8T, Infiniti G35x) and went to make our final (and most realistic) stop to get a quote on the TSX. We did not walk away happy... Here is what we were told...
Currently, the TSX without the navigation has a residual (on a 3 year/36K mile lease) of 59%, and a 2.40 money factor. Base on 6.5% sales tax (Minnesota), with $3,010.14 , due at lease signing, you'll have payments of $389.58 per month including tax.
$3,000 down and $389/mo? Are you F'ing kidding me? Here are the other numbers we have been given, and once again, pay close attention to the MSRP's of the other vehicles. The BMW is $34,840, which is $7,805 HIGHER than the MSRP on the TSX and look at the lease? I just don't get it?
All #’s include tax
BMW 325xi (all-wheel-drive)
MSRP = $34,840
Invoice = $32,310
Selling Price = $33,810
Money Factor = .00165

Invoice = $32,332
Selling Price = $33,350

Acura.com's lease calculator gives 320.98/ month (334 w/ your tax) for 12k/yr, 2500 down and a selling price of 26,000 (including destination). Plugging in a couple of numbers to work backwards, the 389 (365 before tax) comes from a selling price of 500 over sticker! Maybe there was some BS charges or accessories tacked on there. Regardless, $26k doesn't sound like that agressive of a price, so I don't see why 334/month would be out of question. I would ask the sales manager one what selling price the calculation was based - just to see what his reaction is.
Interestingly, when I bought the TSX, the residual was higher than the BMW 325 at 63% (instead of 59%). So to get the same lease rate now, one would have to negotiate 25,500! So while people are now getting better deals with respect to sticker on the TSX, the lease might be more.

For the record, on my lease of 48 months, I'm paying $335/month including 8.25% CA sales tax with a total drive-off (fees + down payment) of $1700. Deal included protection package and Lo/Jack installation at my residence plus full Lo/Jack service for duration of lease. This quote you got is way out of the ballpark. Sounds to me like you need to find a better salesperson or a better dealership.

Perhaps you inadvertently crossed the US-Canadian border??
B-D if you sister buys a 325xi, I will be very upset if she doesn't join this site and tell us how much better of a car it is

"Sorry, it's just the way our program displays the figures. .0024 would be what you're looking for (translates into about 5.76% interest). That lease is a national lease program. If you leased one from me, you would be slightly lower ( but not much), because you would get a discount on the purchase price. Those figures also include tax @ 6.5% on the initial cost and the monthly payments.

When I was dealing for my TSX last spring, I went in with an offer for the dealer and he accepted. I calculated it all out and minus the tax and interest, I ended up getting the equivalent of just over $1000 discount. Not too shabby if you ask me.

I like the fact that there isn't a TSX on every corner, but there is a reason why there is a BMW on every corner, they are a lot of fun. Right now, the BMW is just a better deal. I am still waiting on a quote from a 2nd Acura dealership right now but here was the response from the salesman at the last place...

That dealer is being an ass. Was this the same Acura dealer that you dealt with when you were shopping TSX vs 3-series??

If you had them remove the security deposit from the drive off, my calculations show a payment of 361/month plus whatever your state tax is. Not much of a difference, but it is less.

those lease numbers are extremely off. I got the TSX at a time when there were no lease specials and I got it for 380 a month with 0 down, and the only thing I paid up front was the 1300 tax.

Burning Brakes
I'd keep shopping. I got mine in July, 36 mo. lease $389.17 a month. The only thing I put down was 1st. mo. lease payment and doc and tag fees. It was less than $500.00 total. The car priced out at $1200.00 off MSRP.

non-navi,
I have 350/mo with $500 down, but 60 months.
I could of had 340 if I traveled to get the car
but I gave the local dealer my loyalty since he
worked with me a lot.
I think 36 mo was about 385-390 with nothing down.

wait, ackman, so with the full OEM kit, you're paying that much a month, PLUS the 2k down payment? wow...crap, this is not good news. i think that might be a little too much for us..i was really wanting a black on black with full OEM kit...but i didnt realize it'd cost that much a month. that's sort of a rip off..i was hoping for somewhere around like 380 a month...i guess that's not happening. thanks for the info though, that's what i was really looking for.

I really don' t think so I use to have aa 02 TL and was use to the pymts. I could of got it without the navigation and paid alot cheaper but I needed the nav for so I could not pass it up.
I got one TSX for a frined 2,000 out of pocket and 325.00 a month with no nav and no body kit

well, we currently are leasing an 03 TL-S, so yeah, we know how high the payments can get...i think we are paying around 457 a month, without any down payment...but to lease another car at the same time for around 400 dollars would be a little hard for us. Ever since we've been dealing with Acura, we have never had to pay any down payment, so i hope that is the case this time as well. 325 a month is defintely a very good price, hopefully i can get a deal like that.

The new 3 series is coming out as a 05 model so they are giving good lease deals right now. The body style is 5 years old so I'm sure sales have slowed a bit with all the competition.

dude i got my car the end of april, and i have 48 mo/ 12K mi. with $0 cap cost reduction, my payments are like $350/mo. i think i even rolled in the taxes, so i only paid like $1K out of pocket to walk away with car. i can't remember exactly its been like a year now.
i still have the paperwork if anybody's interested in exact #s.
