What's my car worth? Waffling on lease end options...
My lease is officially up in 30 days on my 2004 TSX. I've tossed around the idea of purchasing it to sell, but the ease of turning it in is quite appealing. I'm just worried I'll be throwing several thousand dollars away if I do so. Anyway....
2004 SSM/black, 6MT, no nav. Only 27,800 miles.
I have babied the car and it shows. I've always used all-weather mats (the originals are in the trunk.) The backseat has had passengers three times in 38 months. I have meticulously maintained the paint including machine polishing with a random orbital. There are a couple of scuffs on the rims and small scratch on the trunklid where I put the garage door down on it New brake pads and resurfaced rotors. Has required nothing else except oil changes and gas.
I've ran the Kelly Blue Book, but I'd like to hear some real world thoughts on what my car might fetch. eBay motors has not been helpful as most 2004s have twice the mileage mine does.
Thanks!

Good points. Thanks for the input.
The simplicity of turning the car in is tough to resist. My lease buyout is only about $15.5K if I recall. Seems like I could get $18K for the car if I tried. So basically I'm leaving $2500 or so on the table. Kind of sucks! Oh well.

I'd buy it ou and try to sell it. Local dealer has a CPO 2004 with AT 29,000 miles, listed at $23,495. Yours will sell for less due to the MT and the premium paid for CPO, but you can definately turn around and make $2500 or $3000 on your car.

Looks to me like you don't have much to worry about, just give it to the dealer and save yourself the stress and time.

Well, she's gone! Hated to see her go, but I turned her in today. Very nice car that never gave me any trouble. It ran as well today as the day I brought it home.
I'm sure I'll still frequent the car talk forum here. Thanks to all who answered questions and helped me with my TSX. If Honda ever makes a reasonably exciting car I may return to the fold
