What would you do in this situation?
Ok, so I've been working with a dealer for a few weeks, looking for a CG 6-speed no navi. I put a deposit down last weekend and I got my VIN number today. Well, I put it into Acura's customer site, and suprisingly, the car is an automatic!
So, I quickly called my salesman and asked him about it and he says he's going to fix the problem.
So, my question to you is... if he can't find me a CG 6-speed... what would you do?

If you want an automatic take the car. If you want a 6Sp either wait to see what he tells you or go to another dealer. Either way, don't settle for something you don't want just because you can get it sooner.

As per Jason's pithy little reply, it does make one wonder about this dealer. I mean, that's a pretty bad oversight. And it shouldn't have had to be your job to find it out.
I would hope he was at least very apologetic about it, and preferably had an explanation. But it sounds like he was just matter-of-fact about it.

lol... well, I spoke to the dealer and he says that I was logged incorrectly. I'm a little skeptical, since it could just be a way to cover his ass. He's supposed to call me back today and give me my actual VIN number. So I guess I'll have to wait and see... If they give me the run-around, the GM at that dealer is definately going to have one pissed off customer on his hands.

So you got rejected by MIT and had to settle for Brandeis, big deal. That is no excuse.

Yeah, Nguyen, just like Lardmont says. You can't go wrong if you listen to Lardmont.
Just make sure the salesperson apologizes to you. Analyze the salesperson's emotional prosodic cues to make sure he/she is ingenuous (Lardmont can give you the technical details).
As long as you feel good about the dealership, who cares what color the car is or if it's automatic or manual, right?
Look, you're going to get ripped off anyway, so make sure you LIKE the dealership. I'm sure Lardmont would pay an extra $500 over MSRP just for a dealership that truly cared about him as a human being.
Do NOT follow Mrs. Jason's advice. Why in the world would you leave the dealership just because they secured the wrong car? That makes absolutely no sense at all.

stick with 6-speed
At least for me, that was the main reason I bought the car. The transmission is silky smooth. I was going to buy an Infiniti G35 6-speed, but its transmission doesn't stack up against the TSX.
I actually purchased PWP because it came in before the CG I ordered. I guess I was a little anxious, but I figured that everyone else is getting CG, plus I saved about $500 by beating California's license fee increase.
