Yes, but do you suddenly feel an attraction towards men?

It's all good. 5AT or 6MT it's a sweet car. As I mentioned before, the last I heard AT is outselling MT with over 70% of TSX's being AT.

That explains why I see so many women TSX drivers.

My car is geared towards entertainment , so I got a 5 AT instead of 6 mt.

I commute everyday and for my situation the 5 AT with sportshift is perfect!

Well if it was one of my better or worse posts is up for opinion..

Let me clarify my points...

If you got a 5AT because you wanted an auto and thats what you bought, YAY! Good for you I have NO issue with that.

The point i was making are the 5AT people who always make it sound like they are on the defensive, But I... but i... but this but that...

So to re-re-re state my point, if you have a 5AT and you are happy with it. Good. Great. FANTASTIC. But what I tire of are responses that sound like excuses. If you wanted an auto, just fess up I'm addressing responses like "well i would have gotten 6MT but....." I mean if your wife cant or wont drive stickshift thats a valid reason to get a 5AT or my buddy john who has a great reason for not driving a stickshift, he only has ONE leg. I have no problem with people that weighed out their options and made a decision based on their own personal situation. Call me a MT nazi if you want but some peoples 'reasons' come off as excuses. I am in no way saying people with 5AT's are any less or more of TSX owners.

Also, yes the 1-1.5 (depending on what magazines you read) loss in 0-60 may have very little effect on daily A>B driving, when it comes to having "fun" the 6MT car is faster, and is more fun to toss around. Does that mean the 5AT is a bad car? No its still a GREAT car. Which is why I bought one.

I'm young enough still I guess that I put too much stock in 0-60 times.

And lastly, I did not say everyone should have manual transmissions. What I did say is that it's not unreasonable for most people to be able to handle a manual transmission if the situation was presented (your buddy is s-faced, some kind of emergency etc) Thats all i was saying. Everyone with all four appendages and basic motor skills has the ability to learn and I think everyone should know how.

And again this is coming from somebody whose first word was "car" when i was a kid all I did was draw cars and wanted to grow up to be a car designer. So anyway away

Geez, didn't know that many people would reply so quickly. So now it looks 50/50...I miss drivin' my 6spd s2k but oh well!! This sounds like us on the s2k board about which is better 00-03 or 04?? lol I guess you'll get that everywhere. It's nice to have cool people and it seems as if I recognize a few S2000 owners/enthusiasts names or maybe I am just gettin' confused? Hmmmm...

All of my cars have been manual. I first learned how to drive with a stick shift at 14. My dad loves that I always get a manual because he loves the "control" you have over a car with a mt. I made sure my mother, brother, sister, and girlfriend can all drive mt comfortably. I will never own anything else until they stop making mt's. I like to drive, especially in the best seat in the car. AT bores my left foot. I don't always toss my car around and shifting is so second nature to me that traffic, ice, and hills don't bother me. Gears are options and I prefer to be in control of those decisions or not drive at all. To each his own. Long live the MT.

Do I wish that I could have gotten a 6speed? Maybe, but I really would have appreciated having the option! There are certainly times that I miss a manual and times that I'm glad that I have the auto.
I think that it is pretty narrow-minded to make this choice into a "pathetic excuse" thing. No, it's a choice (as stated previously) and a choice that we each make independently within the realities of our situation. It seems rather childish to make it into something other than a personal choice.
The last time I checked...my "unit" has not shrunk since I moved to an automatic transmission

My woman thinks it's sexy when I drive stick "because I'm so smooth", and I think also because I drive assertively. I'm not sure if the opposite is true.

Sure the throw might be shorter, but you can maneuver the stick quicker. It's all in how you use your equipment.
