what sizes are the caliper bolts?
does anyone know offhand what sizes the two bolts on the caliper are? i gotta change my pads and gotta go buy a few socketts i think they are 14mm or 16mm not sure? pretty sure i dont need any other tools right?, well just the rear caliper turning cube. thanx.
You really only need a few sizes of sockets (and possibly some extensions) for our cars:
10mm (3/8" drive)
12mm (*)
14mm (*)
17mm (1/2" drive)
19mm (1/2" drive, for lug nuts)
(*) Buy those in both 1/2" and 3/8" drive and you'll have the sockets needed to handle most jobs on the car!
I believe for the brake pads you will need 12mm and 14mm, POSSIBLY the 17mm but I don't think so. You will also need a 14 (or maybe 17mm) open-ended wrench to hold the slider pin from spinning when unbuckling one side of the caliper to flip it open.
