Thanks for the great forum!

just got quoted $26,151.13 w destination and all dealer fees included. I assume I still would have to pay extra for title and licensing but havent heard back yet what they cost. I guess those are set by the government so won't fluctuate?

beastie, out of curiosity, where are you located?
the best offer i've received for a 5AT/non-navi is $26,850 including the protection package but before TTL.

Memphis/Nashville, TN - Im planning to purchase soon, just got an offer for
06 TSX 5AT non-navi, Carbon Grey, Ebony .. 27100 including all fees, but before TTL. Is this reasonable for my area? Other dealers in the area have been around 29,000 or 30,000 for the same vehicle.

Getting an ABP/Ebony 6MT on order, price was $26,500 + TTL. I pitted a couple of dealers against each other and that made it easier to lower the price. FWIW that price was in-person and much lower than any internet quote I got.
As for some insane deals, well, I wonder if those people are trading in cars because the dealer will rip you there if he can and make you think you got a good deal on the new one. If not, then kudos!

This forum is outstanding!
I have to say, I read a lot of car forums for different makes and models and you guys seem to be the coolest by far.
I only started reading the TSX forums recently because I want one badly.
My buddy has a TL and it got me researching all makes and models, before I decided the TSX will be the one. Otherwise, it would have been a Mustang.
Everyone here has all the right things in mind, I just have one pointer for the sake of the Acura Sales Consultants...
...don't visit the given dealerships on your salesperson's day off. If the guy/girl is cool and straightforward with you, please see him/her when he/she is there. If you deal with someone else on his/her day off, it will more than likely be a split deal for him/her. At 100% commission a split mini-deal is not much, and at $500 over invoice, it will definitely be a mini.
$500 over invoice is a good deal for any customer, and their salesperson/dealership. It makes everything much easier for both parties involved.
I only wish my customers thought as clearly as you all.
Congrats to everyone on getting great deals on their new cars and not making the whole buying process more difficult than it needs to be.
Be warned though, even if you are cool, some salespeople won't be. Your salesperson can make all the difference, just find the right one!
BTW...this is my first post. I hope down the road I'll be posting pics of a new TSX as well!

I really love Mustangs...
...but I am 29, and it really doesn't quite exude professionalism. Plus your TSXs are every bit as stylish, and their interiors blow it away! I love everything about these cars...and that says alot! Three years ago I wouldn't have touched anything other than a Ford!
I just think it is really cool how the majority here recognize the fact that the dealership is a business, and the salespeople are actually people too!
I never mind a mini-deal. It is better than nothing after all. Hell, I'll try to work the same thing when I buy mine, but I will ask whoever sells it to me what their mini is ahead of time, and match it in cash.
I hope I can work the same magic as you guys, here in Chicago!

I hate car buying
Have to agree with Brady that the internet is the way to go. I live in S Central PA and can travel to MD, NOVA, or Phila to optimize negotiations if I need to. Have an offer for $28 over invoice with OTD at $29,670. Did this all over the internet/phone (aside from visiting dealership at least 3x to decide between the TSX and Accord V6). Is this price good for this area? And if it is, can I really expect the dealership to give me close to KBB trade-in value at good condition? Note that dealership is telling me there's no CGP/ebony in a 5 state search. I just test drove one in Phila on Sat so are they lying?

You're getting 28 dollars over invoice and you are still unsure of whether or not it is a good deal?! Unbelievable...
Dealerships use the black book...not KBB.

We have 2 CGP/ebony at a local dealership in West Virginia. They are AT, w/o navi though.
If interested let me know I will get you some contact info.

I should add to this thread, I just recently purchased:
2006 TSX 5AT w/ NAVI
CG / Ebony. (CG is the most popular color. Rosenthal in MD has more)
$28,200 pre- TTL w/ locks, splashies, mats.
just < $30k OTD.
from Chevy Chase Acura in MD

I just ordered a 2006 TSX 6MT non-navi Silver/Ebony for $26,200 (3% over invoice) + dest. charge -- so it's $26,815 out-the-door. That does not include taxes because here in Missouri we pay them when you license the car which is typically done sometime within 30 days of the purchase (because that's how long the temporary tags last).

it was about $165 for all fees. the $26,100 included the mats, trunk tray, splash guard, locks, and destination fee. so all that said it looks like my final deal was a few hundred under invoice.

Prices dropping?
I just bought a TSX. I got the dealer cost info from Consumer Reports and emailed in an offer. I got a 2006 automatic with NAV for $27,200 which according to my numbers is about $400 over their actual cost after hold back.

I guess the new-model cachet is wearing off now.

Did you have a trade-in? If so, what did you trade-in and how much did they give you for it?

I haven't heard from the local Acura Internet Dept. for a long time but yesterday I got an e-mail part of which is below:
"I wanted to catch up with you. January is a slow month for us and I am extremely motivated to sell as many TSX's as possible. I do have a couple TSX's available on the lot and will make any reasonable deal. "
It will be interesting to see the actual number of TSXs sold in January cause it seems like the dealers are getting pretty desperate.

Finally agreed on price and ordered my 06 black on black MT w/ Navi for $29K before TTL Yeah a little high, but only one dealership in the area and that combo was next to impossible to come by. At first they wouldn't take anything less than $30K I'm happy regardless and I didn't have to compromise on anything.
