What price are you paying for 2006 TSX ???

Hello Everybody,

Haven't visited this forum in a while...

I am getting rid of my 99 tl for a beautiful carbon grey 06 TSX (non navi)... The price i am getting from a local dealer is $30,535 out of the door (8.375% tax included). Basically it's $300 of the total price.

What do you think guys??? Should I be looking elsewhere???

Thanks,
B

That's kind of expensive....you can get an 05 for like $28k OTD or less now (even with your 8.375% tax). I say wait a few more months for the supply to increase and demand to decrease so you get more bargaining power. And your tax sucks!

I already have one dealership willing to do $819 above invoice (that includes a "ad fee" and a "doc fee" but not destination charges). Another dealership is willing to do $1000 over invoice (including any and all fees except destination charges) and that includes the protection package. I really haven't begun to negotiate either! I'm sure I won't be able to get the deal some got on '05 models, but I know I won't be paying as much as some thought.

Along the same lines, anyone know when we might expect Edmunds to post the invoice figure for the 2006 TSXes?

We have two in St. Louis, but I've been talking -- via email -- more with the 2 dealers in Kansas City (as well as one in Springfield, MO).

nice, there's about 5 dealerships within 25 miles of me, but i've been quietly hoping the one that's 3 miles away from my house will give me the best deal (just in case i need to deal w/ any problems in the future), but it's a low volume dealer and i'm guessing i'll have to do some shopping around...

'sides, i wouldn't mind getting to drive it home for more than 5 minutes!

I got my PWP with Ebony Interior TSX with NAVI for 30,965 OTD. I guess it is a pretty good deal considering I put the deposit down in September.

Hondan53,
That's $460 over MSRP + destination and you consider that good?

I'm in West Des Moines, best deal I found on my '04 TSX was at Superior Acura in KC. Did the whole deal over the phone, they faxed, I signed, drove down the next day and picked up the TSX. They were the best by about $500.

Tell me what you think of this back-of-the-envelope calc: If in 2005 a TSX w/Nav had an MSRP of $29,190 and an invoice of $26,605, the invoice price was 91.14% of the MSRP. Applying that same percentage to the 2006, the invoice should be $27,243.

Of course, that means Acura gets $638 out of the $700 increase, and their dealers get only $62.

I have no idea if there's any validity to any of this... any thoughts?

I already used that same type of logic and estimated the invoice of a non-Navi 2006 to be $25,422. We'll know how good it is after Edmunds updates their site...

They've got some strange numbers over at kbb.com. Although they only show a 2005 TSX, they state that w/Nav its MSRP is $29,805 (vs. the $29,190 we all recognize) and its invoice it $27,220. It's almost like they were trying to project the 2006 numbers. For non-Nav their numbers are $27,805/$25,399.

I think I'll offer my dealer $14,500 plus my manual '03 RSX with 16K miles (I'm getting Nav), and see what happens.

No projection going on at kbb.com. Their numbers include the destination charge: $29,190 + $615 = $29,805

nice responses...

So I put deposit today for the car. They took my 99 TL with 140k miles on it (very happy about that). So I ended up with $30K OTD (w/ NY tax). I think the price is reasonable...

I had to sell them my car, just like they had to sell me thiers

I will be one of the first people to drive beautiful '06 TSX on November 23rd.

Plus a hot woman was selling it to me so you know how that is

Thanks for everybody's input...

I just got an internet quote from a dealer: $30,505 (including destination charge and mud guards) plus tax, lic and $45.00 doc fee.

I think that price is a little high, what does everyone think?

Yes it is high.

I just got back from test driving a Manual IS250 white on black with optional 18inch wheels. Sticker price on that car was $31,xxx.

Such a beautiful car!! Drives really nice to.

If i'm going to be paying $30k for a TSX I rather get an IS250 for $31,XXX enough though it doesnt have bluetooth, etc. I rather pay 1k more and get the Lexus.

hmm in that case, not too high, higher than 05 or course, cause of the added stuff on there... so with that price it will be a solid car, though, personally, just speaking for myself, if i were to spend that money, i will get a new 325, bigger torque, bigger power, free maintainance for 50K miles, albeit minus the GPS, but i can live without that.. overall 325 might cost a grand or 2 more.. but the 50K free maintainance tookc are of that difference..

In all fairness, that price is not high, you get lots of car for that money, but for myself, ill probably opt for es330 or 06 325...

yeah, the 325's probably a more fun car to drive, but for me, it's really about what the TSX comes with. a navigation is a must for me, and the fact that the TSX comes with a zillion other standard features makes me want to take the TSX over anything else.

so for a 5AT w/ nav that price isn't too bad? i think i want to try to get them to lower the price to under $30K before tax and lic. it just seems like too much of an increase in price compared to the 05.

yeah that is pretty expensive for a non nav. i was thinking it was a nav one.

my 05 with nav 5at i got last month for 28800 out the door (that was with 8.25 % tax and license destination etc)

i'd try to get a better price, under 30k

well 30,500 for the tsx was with tax and all fees.

the lexus would still be over 35k with tax and fees. (i dont know a is250 6mt with 18" rims which are REQUIRED to buy in california is $31500 or so + destination which is like $800 at lexus and 8.35% tax + dmv license fees would be over 35k)

sorry, obscure joke...
edmunds does "price adjustments" for colors when figuring your "target" price...
ie: you should expect hard to find/ desirable colors to cost you more.

i was kinda busting on the green, like maybe you'd get a big discount for taking one of the green ones off their hands

the msrp for the 2006 tsx no navigation is 27890 plus delivery( in my area) of $615

although dealer invoice is not officially available yet, in the past there has been a 9.7 % mark up.

So best guess of dealer invoice is 25,423 to be added to 615 delivey+ tax + licence tag fee

the question is how much dealer profit is reasonable. I've been offered 650 over invoice. I think its reasonable but dont really know.

please give me your opinions

i think if we all state our deals as "dollars over invoice" they would be easier to compare.

When the cars are first rolling out to the US, there tends to be a lower supply than there will be later in 2006. So when supply is low, it becomes a more of a seller's market. So if someone quoted you $650 over invoice, in my opinion that seems like a good price.

NY Prices

I havent actually gotten price quotes yet, but i'm in the NY Metro area and looking for an 06 AT w/ Navi. how are people in NY/NJ/PA doing? I'm willing to drive a reasonable distance to get the car at the best price. If i had the invoice price, i think i'd be willing to pay up to 1,000 over invoice. Acura doesn't do much as far as deals, a month ago, i got offerend an 05 with navi for $200 over invoice, which is a great deal, but i really want these new features.

My 2006 Non Navi

In Jacksonville, FL, I paid 26,350 + TTL for a plain 2006.

I was told Navi would add 1800.
