I did a search and couldn't find anything. I was just curious, and I don't have the owner's manual with me at the moment. I just wanted to know what the max speed was for each gear for a stock 6MT TSX. I sort of use the max speed as a guideline for downshifting. For example, in my old car, max speed in 3rd gear was 80mph. So if I was cruising in 5th at 60mph and I wanted to really punch it, I'd go from 5th to 3rd. But if I was cruising at 70-75mph in 5th, I'd opt to go to 4th, since it would already be near the rev limit if I went to 3rd.

What I'm looking for is something like:
gear - max speed
1st - 25mph
2nd - 55mph
3rd - 85mph
4th - 110mph
5th - 130mph
6th - 150mph

these numbers are just my guesses. hoping someone here knows the real numbers. Thanks in advance!

When to downshift:

Into first gear up to 10 mph
Into second gear up to 40 mph
Into third gear up to 60 mph

That's about it for street driving.

These numbers are lower because you still need to have some time to spend in that gear until redline; otherwise it's pointless to shift into it.

Well you can try 1st, 2nd and most of 3rd gear legaly on the highway...

I think 3rd gear tops out at less than 80. From my last two trips to road courses that's what I think I remember (had to get in to 4th to get past 80 mph). I don't remember for sure though.
