Both are fairly affordable and give good results.
I'd stay away from an Injen intake as it IMO robs what little low end torque the car has. I still have mine installed.
Oh, and get rid of those god awful 06-08 wheels ASAP and pick up A-Spec wheels.

The other intake alternatives are Mugen, Gruppe-S, and J's Racing. They all definitely look very nice, but they're also all grossly overpriced and actually provide less gains than the Icebox.

The comptech gives better gains than the Mugen, Gruppe-S or the J's?
I don't believe you.

Believe it.
I'm not saying there is a night and day difference between them - in fact, the differences might be hardly discernable to an average driver. Still, it's a difference nevertheless.
Compared to the Mugen, the Comptech airbox lid is larger, hence more volume (better throttle response) and longer inlet tube drawing in colder air.
The Gruppe-M (not S, my bad) and J's Racing are not really considered CAIs so much as closed-box SRIs. This means they're not as well sealed off as the Comptech (i.e. drawing in hot air from the engine bay), nor is their inlet tube as effective.
I've personally talked to someone at AJ Racing, and he told me that the Comptech Icebox would perform slightly better than their intake. Ask for Andy @ AJ, he'll probably tell you the same thing.
What...are you surprised that the most expensive parts don't always yield the best gains ?

I'm looking to get an intake in the future and I want it to have a nice sound but I don't want any loss of torque on the low end since I spend most of my time just cruising not on WOT. Besides the comptech ice box, are there any other alternatives? (none of those really expensive intakes please haha)

I wasn't seeing the real difference between Mugen and CT, but you saying the
CT has a higher lid and more airflow does of course make sense.
It's not too visible to the eye in pictures though and not an obvious or I'm sure
a large difference.
I understand what you're saying about the SRI's as well, and personally I would
not want an SRI on my car and neither of those two are even an option for me.
The longer and/or better inlet tube is news to me too.
I guess I need to analyze it a bit better.

the j's, mugen, and competch all do the same thing, probably give or take a few HP.
if that's the case, it just boils down to whether you're actually willing to pay an extra few hundred for the bling factor (mugen, j's) and additional, albeit marginal, HP, vs. the comptech.
different strokes for different folks.
