Hi ya'll!! Just got my new black tsx and really wanna take off those ugly gold pinstripes on the sides! After i peel them off what can i use to get the sticky stuff off without hurtin my beautiful black paint! Prolly sounds like a dum question i know but i'm just SO.....extra careful with my new car! you have pinstripes?

just peel them off and wash/polish/wax the area and you should be fine

 

clay bar would work.

 

If you want to do it 100% properly, get a pinstripe removal wheel, or borrow one from a body shop fo rlike $10. Attach it to the drill or rotary tool (preferred) and it'll take them off without harming your paint at all.

Then clean, wax, and voila.

 

Can you take a pic of your car?

I've never seen a TSX with pinstripes before.
Did it come like that from the dealership?

 

There is a VW dealer near me that pinstripes their cars. Its something cheap they can do and charge $400 for.

dude why, those pinstripes are hot. mine has pinstripes, really good quality vinal with Acura emblem towards the front, i'll post pics in about a week when my camera gets fixed.

well about the pinstripes.....be careful with the pinstripe wheel because you can rubb right through the paint with it. If you can get it down to the glue, then a lil bit of rubbing alcohol will take the rest off. Make sure to wash and wax after though!

The day we brought my wife's car home we removed the pinstrips. You'll be amazed at how easily they come off. All you have to do is peel slowly and you should be alright.

It is actually a Photoshopped Honda Legend (JDM). As you can see it has two doors as opposed to four doors. Unfortunately I can not remember where I found the pic

Lisa, why didn't you just get the dealer to remove them before you would take delivery? If my dealer ever slaps any sticker of their logo (some of them do that here) or puts on pinstripes on the car, I for sure will get them to remove them and have no damage before I take the car. Can you still take it back to them to get them remove it?
