The BRB is a common mod for Miatas, but on the TSX?

i bet no one likes it anyways.. i think it looks crap. if it was the Engine Start button from S2000, it at least looks better.. but yeah it is rice no matter what.

Is it really that difficult to turn the key? I mean you already have it in your hand in the ignition so is that 15degree twist too cumbersome????

Question What to do with my PUSH BUTTON START???

DECIDED TO START MY OWN THREAD ABOUT THIS.

I just bought a push button start for my 07 mt . I don't mind having to hit the clutch down and put the key in to start it... im too parinoid to NOT have the key... dont want anyone just breaking in and starting her up ya know? I think i'll still use the key but hit up the push button every now and then as a novelty feature.

anyway, i SUCK at electrical stuff. Where should I go to have this put in? A shop? would a stereo shop do it that does car alarms and stuff or should i look for a tuning shop? If anyone is in Chicago (north burbs) can you recommend a place?

also, any sugguestions on WHERE to mount it in the car... i hear the cig lighter is popular, but then i can't charge my radar. You think it'd be possible to get it put in the "not an ashtray" spot with a small black pannel over it?

take a look

thanks for the help

I have to say that when I demo'd a Nissan Murano with the no-key ignition, I was laughing at first at the preposterousness of such a gimmick.

But after 5,000 miles, I got very accustomed to not taking my keys out of my pocket/bag/whatever... and now that I just got my TSX, I sometimes get in and just sit there like an idiot, wondering what to do next.

Why would anyone want the 2-step start operation? it only makes sense if done like in the new 335 or the new G35. Key/transponder in your pocket, and you just press the button... if you still have to insert the key first, why bother? because it "looks cool"?

If I were going to do this, I'd also do the keyless entry thing. The one where you have a card in your wallet. Once you get in range, the car unlocks itself. Push button start would defeat the purpose of the immobilzer though. You probably have to hide a key inside so that the button can start the car.

i think it adds some sort of "race carish" feel to it yes...

why not have fun with it?

the only reason i'm keeping the key is because I have to park my car on the street 9 months out of the year so I don't want to take any chances.

it doesn't look nice in that place, maybe if it was on the right side where Lexus and Infiniti put in their cars it would look better.
