I do like the 2004, but not as much as the car that finally got it right.

On the new one, we don't know mych of anything, but there is the rumor of a coupe. If the roadster could perform that well around a track, imagine what it will do with proper structural rigidity. The redline is supposed to go back up, the car made a little lighter (no open top helps), and track-worthiness increased. We'll see. I'm not holding my breath.
Most intriguing, kurt...

I will be crossing my fingers that I might be able to afford to have a second car by the time this becomes available.

I'm keeping the TSX in addition. Ami is encouraging we have the TSX and another S2000 again. She misses that thing.

the catch is the is250 is a 200hp v6 everyone fawns over the is350 but forgets its 35-38k+, while the is250 is the red headed step child.

Not me, that's the one I'm looking at! That direct injection v6 is sweet, light weight(as compared to the old i6) and coupled with a 6at should have some decentely lively acceleration numbers.

I don't know what the curb weight is, but w/ a decrease in power and a 6AT I'd imagine the 0-60 would be similar to the current IS, which is just slightly faster than a 6MT TSX. While I'm sure it'll be a nice car, I don't get how those who are itching for more speed want an IS250.

I agree with you about expectin git to perform similarly to the current IS. I'm not looking for a race car but as compared to an auto TSX(which I drive now) I think it will be significantly quicker and more powerful when cruising. Though without the car and specs officially out from lexus it's all speculation. And when it is out and I drive it I may feel it's not a big enough increase to warrant a change. Right now it's just the direction i'm headed towards without my decision made. In japan the 2.5 is 215 hp 185lb ft which we will probably will see slightly detuned.

If Honda put the Navi and VSA into the S2000, I would sell the TSX in a heartbeat and go buy it.

I also agree with you about the IS250's performance being similar to the current IS. Just like TinkySD, I'm not looking for a really fast car. I think the IS250 6MT should be pretty quick already. Obviously the IS350 is quicker, but it does not come in 6MT and I don't think I can wait till it comes out in a year or two (still a mystery that no one will know this year). In my mind, the IS250 6MT is already an "upgrade" from the Prelude. I really can't wait until it hits the dealership floor.

Well, since I already have an 02 Acura CL-S/04 Acura TSX, might was well get an Acura RL late this year or early next year when the A-Spec rolls out. Will they ever have the US version have the fan option in the front seats?
