warranty work...

Just curious if anyone had to take their TSX in to the dealer for warranty work that ended up not being covered and you had to pay out of your own pocket... what needed fixing and why didn't they cover it? Thanks

I've been fortunate in that my 05 and 07 have required very little warranty work. My 05 has had the 02 sensor (I think there are 2, don't know which one) replaced and the battery (both under goodwill (supposedly); I was out of regular warranty and the extended doesn't cover the battery; not sure about the 02 sensor). A headlight fix that was under a TSB (or recall, forget which). The 07 has only required a replacement of one of the center console levers to open the top. Since they offered no argument and actually had the part in stock, I'm guessing it's not too uncommon a complaint. My 05 has 65K miles and the 07 is approaching 20K. I've had the dealer do all the maintenance, so I kind of expect them to take care of me and they have.

Simba, you got 2 TSX? Do you drive both or does another family member drive the other?

some a-hole scratched the headlight at a mall parking lot
both the foglights cracked
the seat cover was assaulted by a sharp object attached to husband's belt
when the dealer was replacing the cover they noticed my heat part was going to soon stop working
actually the work should not have been covered but I have a excellent dealer.

I've had to go in for warranty work at least three times and I've only had my car for a little over a year. Thankfully, I never had to pay anything, but three times is unacceptable! I'll be making another appointment for warranty work soon as well.

All mine have been fixed, no problem.

-trunk button above license plate stopped working (short in the wire)
-A/C blew warm (relay was bad)
-HVAC lights went out (new printed circuit board - actually 2, 1st didn't work)
-seat heater switch bulb was out
-headlight condensation

I have one year left on my bumper to bumper warranty (extra year with CPO purchase), so if something's going to go wrong, please do it now.

They were all rattles, but everytime they fixed one, I got another. I currently probably have 5 rattles, so I need to get them checked out. I also get a harsh rattle/vibration from the engine bay when it's under stress so I want them to check out my mounts. I get a whining noise from my engine so I need that checked out. And I also need them to check out my suspension/axles because my car goes side-to-side sometimes when I'm around 70mph.

I love my TSX, but the problems piss me off sooooo much to the point I'm looking at other cars.

my car started to develop a slight rattle about 3 months after I bought it. mentioned it when I took it for service-they made some adjustments-knock-on-wood nomore rattles.

Uhhh had both headlights replaced twice.
one door lock fixed and the other was denied
trunk wire fixed
rotors and pads, not fixed.

alot of the warranty work is hard to get covered. I dont have my service done at the dealership and they dont like that. basically whenever i show up its like im asking for something that is not entitled to me. I am chalking all of this up to the specific dealership I have bought my vehicle from, but Acura is loosing that warm and fuzzy feeling they give their customers.

check these forums, they are a great resource of information. all the spec sheets that the dealers look at for warranty work are uploaded in the FAQ section. I printed these sheets out after the started to make up excuses and expected better service. it helped but in the end i am an upset customer and annoyed that acura doesnt care.

it sucks they are willing to loose a customer and risk a lawsuit over $200 worth of brake work. luckily this isn't a pressing issue but it shouldn't happen on such a nice car.
