yeah I had trouble noticing VTEC before my CAI, but now it's really easy to hear. The VTEC intake note is great!

So, let me get this straight...CAI...loss of low end power (slightly) but more of a stable increase in the upper band 4500+.? Also, Icebox for an 06? Ive got 1100 miles on my ride and am ready to do an intake or possibly Hondata reflash. Im on a lease though.

I'm in the same boat you are. Only know to do the essentials. But I jumped in with both feet and the Injen CAI install is actually pretty easy. Great project and I love the gains and sound.

Does the AT and the MT differ with MPH and RPM's they go to in each specific gear.

I know the first post stated that they got up to 90 in 3rd and with my 6MT my speed in 3rd is around 80mph and thats just about 7000RPM. Then I can take 4th to 100mph and 5th over that.

I'm still in the extended 06 break-in period, but whether I just let the revs float up to redline, or just nailing it, I get a definite kick and continued stronger acceleration starting at 6,000 until redline vs what's there over the preceeding 500 revs. I can't comment if the sound is any different, becuase I haven't been listening for it.

You should def be able to hear when Vtec kicks in. Its a high pitch winding noise that you can hear if your listening for it. I love the sounds of it!

The best way to "hear" it kick in is to do it on local roads, windows down (as reasonable speeds of course).
The engine sounds will reflect off parked cars and houses, making it very easy to spot.
