Angry Valet scratched my front bumper! >:O

...i went to this really nice seafood restaurant in Baltimore yesterday and they had valet parking. I usually try to stay clear of them but my gf said lets just do it so i agreed. We ate dinner which was very nice and when i came out it took like 10min for them to get the car, we were the only ones there waiting. finally they brought out the car and we left (it was around 8pm, getting dark out). The next morning (today) i see a big scratch on the front a-spec body kit (and i def would have noticed it when i washed the car sat morning). So the scratch had to have happen between sat after washing the car, and Sunday morning. All i did in that time was drive to Baltimore, home and to blockbuster. The scratch is also the type that comes from the car hitting something, not someone else hitting the car. The bumper is also slightly misaligned! I'm very mad, this just isn't something you expect from a 5star restaurant after saying 10$ to park the car!

...I called the restaurant and they were very nice, they got me the valet company manager and said this actually happens a lot and that if they wont help you maybe we can...I called and left a message with the valet company.

The scratch is about 5 inches long, 1cm wide and the underside (what you cant see) is also alllll scratched up. I can just touch up paint it, but the bumper is also misaligned and has a gap under the headlight...this is the first scratch/blemish on the whole car!

**end of rant**

I think valet parking is a lot better than parking by yourself. With valet parking, if anything happens to your car, they will pay for it. With self parking, if anything happens to your car, you can't blame anyone.

Wow, I know you New Yorkers are pretty street smart but thats probably not a safe assumption.

Those valets usually do not take 100% liability. But hey, go ahead and use valets man.

I never use valet. Never.

Last time I used valet in my old Volvo, the Valet worker had serious B.O. issues.

Just like that Seinfeld Episode. God that was terrible.

...the manager of the valet company called me back, i told him how anal i was with the car and that the car is only a few months old (for me). I also explained how i just installed the aspec kit and had washed the car that morning.

...he said that there claims person would contact me in 24hrs. Hopefully they cover all of the repairs! *crosses fingers*

Never, ever valet... and, if your gf thinks you're too anal about your car, time for a new gf!

One time I went to san francisco for a conference. The hotel made everyone pay for parking. After parking overnight there, I was waiting to exit the parking structure. However, I had to stop right before the booth so the valet could bring out a car (it was like a lincoln or cadillac). Anyway, the guy couldn't make the turn properly...he ended up hitting the sign on the booth. Instead of backing out, he just forced his way out with the car scraping. The toll booth had a horrified look on his face, and he only charged me $1 for parking overnight. I guess he was paying me off not to mention it to anyone lol.

I would have gone straight ahead to tell the owner, but I had passengers, and the front of the hotel was directly in line-of-sight, so the owner should have seen it anyway. My passengers were in a hurry to go

i agree with #2 but the dealer I take my tsx for service does an excellant job washing my car-they hand-wash it. they also vacuum it even tho it really does not need it. maybe the "stealership" you deal with is lousy but the Dealership i go to is excellant- they do not try to sell unneeded service. I had a headlight that was scratched by some a-whole and my two foglights that were cracked replaced free.
