Used TSX Blue Book

Have a friend who's offered to sell me his "used" TSX. He has 10K miles on the car and he's asking $25K.

Its a 6sp with Nav. He's throwing a leather bra. Anyone have and idea about the Blue Book on this ride? Ck'd Edmunds and KBB....no info available.

Thanks!

I hope you mean a leather nose mask and then I would have to say that I have never seen one. I don't think that leather would be a good idea when it gets wet.

My ex bought her 04 news last week for $26,800 with Navi and an Auto. I would say that the car would be worth $23,000 to $24,000 depending on the color and condition. If it is a 6 speed that you want, then you're in luck, but the std trans hurts the resale some.

If you have a credit union or bank, call them and see how much $$$ they will carry on it and then you will have a better idea.

Good luck.

I always use the black book calculator on cars.com. I think it's the same black book the dealers use.

dood .. 21 i think you got ripped! 26k for a salvaged title with 16k ... you could get one brand new for 27k or 28k (from what i've read through this board).

Doesn't sound like a very good friend to me. That seems about $2-3k too high for a used car IMO. A new non-nav can be had for under $26k.

Holy crap!

How did you get the dealer to offer you so much? I have 8k miles, CG/Ebony, AT; also, in excellent condition and I was offered in the area of 21k from 3 different dealers.

Anyone else with background on the "used" TSX prices? I tried the cars.com route, but still no info.

Has anyone else bought a TSX from a private seller and at what price? I understand a "NEW" without NAV can be purchased for sub $25.5, so would you consider $25K to be reasonable?

I'm just trying to determine a baseline.

Thanks.

Wow, under www.cars.com, there's not a single with Navi in Texas that I could see. A bunch without however. Search showed a total of 128 in US on their website.

HAHAHAHA, your gona fit in nicely around here! Welcome.

I'm not totally sure how I got so much for my car, and i know that the honda dealer gave it to Acura to use as a loaner car.

I guess it comes down to my negoteateing skill's.
I got my accord for $25k, $7k under sticker..........plus, this is my 3rd honda/acura financed from American Honda Financeing, so i'm sure that helped out as well.

We worked all the numbers out before my credit was pulled, and after they pulled my credit they changed the offer...."here's the deal Mr. 21.......we will be happy to give you $26k for your car, but we are going to have to charge $31k for the accord."

Me: "well, cya guys later. I'm going to go buy a mitsu evo 8. your loss."
Dealer: "wait, let me get my manager."

manager walks out, asks what the problem is.

Me: "we had everything set, and now your changing the deal and im leaving. cya guys, and good luck doing buisness by lying."
Manager: "Wait!!!! what was the deal we had offered you?"

so i told him, and then got the car for $25k.

haha.......there loss, twice. not mine.
i got the car for cheap, and gave them a salvaged car for higher than blue book!

haha

That's not bad.

You could probably get a new 6spd TSX w/navi for $27,500USD.

But also keep in mind, the 05's are soon due.

OK guys. I bit the bullet and shopped around. Instead of buyiing my friends TSX, I bought a dealer trade-in.

Here's the scoop. The guys buys a TSX in June and puts 2987 miles on it. During that time, he throws on new Comptech springs, titanium front strut bar, rear sway bar, and mfg fog lights.

After one month, he decides he wants an EVO and trades-in the TSX.

I bought if for $25, 699 plus tax and fees.

Silver with Ebony
AT with NAV.

What do you guys think?.....the ride home was sweet.

Sounds like a good deal!

But that person probably redlined excessively and didn't go through the proper break-in procedure

Haha, just playing with you, enjoy your ride!

I'm not sure because we got the C230 w/ navi and silver for $37,500 OTD cash, and the sticker on those is around $38K + fees

It sound's like you traded it into a Mercedes dealer which would be why you only got $22k. If you traded it in at an acura dealer or sold it private you would have gotten more $$$.

What is the matter with you??? Trading a TSX for a C230???? That's like trading a civic for a kia rio.

You could've gotten $25,000 for your car.

the MB dealership also owns the Acura dealership that is what their Acura dealership offered.

Civic for a Kia Rio, I don't think so.

well we wanted the E class but we don't want to spend to much, the C230 has the navi and projector type xenon headlights that is why it was that much, if it was just the regular C230 kompressor it would only be $29K

if I would sell it myself I would be able to sell it around that much, but I don't want to take out $37K and try to sell the TSX privately. I just don't want to deal with people test driving the car like crazy.
