Used 05 Acura Tsx help
Hey wats up guys, i'm new to this thread, my bro and i are really intersted in getting a TSX, but unfortunetly, we cannot afford a new one, so we decided to buy a used one instead. We got contacted by the dealership late afternoon today about a used 05 TSX, for around 27k (tax not included). Heres the info about the car:
Pearl White
Black interior
Aero Kit installed
lower fog lights
Manual 6 spd.
73km
I'm not quite sure if its actually worth it or not, the new one is roughly around 41k+ las time i chcked @ a dealer ship. But ye.... any advices?
Thanks guys

Kitjai, you shoulda specified that you were quoted CAD cos people thought you were talking USD :P
I think $27K is an okay price as long as it's from an Acura dealer. If not, then it's a bit overpriced considering it has 73K. Have you considered getting a 2004 with lower mileage? A 2004 with 50K km is around $25-26K. There's very little difference between 2004 and 2005 anyway.
And yeah, aero kit is >$1000 and the foglights are around $300.

Hey guys, thanks for all the help and suggests, anyways iv actually seen some 2004s on da web, as far as i know, nothing big btw th 04 and 05 right? caught most 04s r actually cheaper with low km, as far as i'm concern. The 04s iv seen are actually around 22k-25k max with 5kk km low. Can u actually distinguish if an areo kit is installed or not? I cant really tell the diff btw them.

Just for reference, I got my 05 NHB Ebony Non Navi for just under $33,500 OTD. (works out to around $29k + GST and PST - I'm in BC). This was back in January 07.
It had 12,500km when I got it.
My friend picked up a 2004 Non navi for I think 32k OTD a month ago. His was a PWP Ebony with just under 30,000km.
Your price seems about average. See if you can get a private sale to save on one of the taxes (works out to roughly $2000 less.

The Aero kit is just the A spec body kit (front and rear spoiler and side mouldings). Just google TSX A spec and you should find a ton of pics. You should be able to tell if you've got the body kit just from looking at the car after seeing a picture of it.

Try this one (private sale so save on taxes, is an 06 with less miles) or this (04, less miles, about the same price as what you're looking at) or this (private sale, less miles, and slightly cheaper).
This and this seem really cheap and super low mileage 2004's for around 25k. The first one has ridiculously low mileage (59km????) so I'd probably check those out before comitting to make sure there's no accidents, etc.
Just from a quick scan of (Autotrader it looks like there's at least a few better deals out there. I'd say shop it around first and use some of those ads as leverage if you really want the one you're looking at...

PWP is pretty damn nice I have to admit.

This was the only PWP one I could find. Less miles than the one you're looking at, and a little lower on the price.
I'd say take this ad to the guy, and see if he can at least match it. $26k and a private sale means one less tax to pay (around $2000), plus $1000 less than what the guy you're looking for is asking for. You'll save $3000 right off the bat going for this one, and you'll have 30,000 less KM's on it too (which means it's still under warranty). Spend $150 to get Acura to give it the once over, and you'll still come out ahead. Plus this guy has the upgraded rims so you won't look like every other PWP TSX out there.

Give it a try and see if you can squeeze a few thousand bucks off the guy you're looking to buy from if you've got your eye set on that car...it couldn't hurt!

I can tell you the stuff that I don't have since I own 2004 model.
I don't have front passanger power seats
I don't have XM Radio (no ipod text scroll feature if u get aftermarket module)
No heated side mirrors
I think I left out one or two minor things.

Umm, actually that ad Syee posted wasnt that bad, but is it true that to add Aspec, its another 6k? In terms of, i want the lower fog lights, the spoiler, skirt. Etc. And i want the navi andi dun think ithas navi either. Does it mean that i need to install a portable navi and how much would that be?

Ahh, didn't know you were looking for a navi model. Those for some reason seem to be hard to come by here in Canada. However, I must admit that the Navi is pretty cool. ![Big Grin](https://acurazine.com/forums/images/smilies/biggrin.gif)
The body kit shouldn't cost $6k. If you're going full on A spec possibly (i.e. suspension and body kit with painting and installation), and even that's a stretch. However the body kit itself shouldn't cost that much.
I'm not sure if the car you're looking at is the ad you linked us to - but that particular car doesn't have the "Aero kit" (aka ASpec body kit). Can't say I really like the A Spec body kit either - it looks way too aggressive for my tastes...
As for portable Navi, I'm using a Garmin Nuvi 360 and love it. Best part is that since it's portable, I can take it with me on vacations - where I really need it since I'm not familiar with where I'm going. Downside is that it's portable, so any ol crack head can bust my window and take it if I don't put it away...

Was just wondering, how much did that portable navi?
I dunno, i might wait abit until next year when i saved up enuff for a new stock tsx, last time i chked was about 41k. It had navi, Apsec, everything. But its kinda pricey, some ppl say its better off going used instead.

The Nuvi cost me $400USD. You can get the 350 which only lacks Bluetooth for $350 (or sometimes less). Best bet is to get it from the US, since they seem to be somewhat expensive here, especially with taxes factored in. Try Tigerdirect.ca. They had a pretty decent deal going on them if you don't mind going mail order.
Going Aspec according to Acura's site is $47,195, before taxes. Aspec pacakage would be the sport suspension, 17" 5 split spoke (or the 18" for $1100 more), A spec emblem, front/rear skirt, spoiler and side skirts. That'll bring you way over $50k after taxes. ($53,330 in BC with 13% sales tax) Not worth it in my opinion for a car that's in it's final year before a redesign. If I were you, I'd pick one up used, or save up for a new 09 redesign.
At least there you'll probably get the SH AWD, albiet for a higher price. Hopefully by then, you'll have saved enough for it! ![Smile](https://acurazine.com/forums/images/smilies/smile.gif)
If you need a car now, I'd say go for a used 04 or 06. They'll be about half to 2/3 of the cost of a brand new, and you can Hondata it for a bit more punch with the money you saved. Everything is still under warranty (well, an 04 might not be). If you really want it to look unique, go pick up a body kit of your liking and have someone put it on for you, and pick up some new wheels and tires. You'll still be way ahead!

05 tsx
6 spd.
Apsec installed (skirt, spolier) and everything with fog lights
had Internal upgrade
have 70k km on it
Price: 28k, tax not included (but he can probably ask for a cheaper price)
No navi
Probably used 3 years already
So What do you guys think? looking roughly around 30k for a used 05, but i can probably convince him for a lower price, (probably 28k tax included)

I guess it really depends on what's more important - saving some $ or getting a "virgin" car. ![Big Grin](https://acurazine.com/forums/images/smilies/biggrin.gif)

Btw, how much would i need to get skirt pack installed on to the 06 (Apsec), for sure its not 6 k, thats what one dealership said, lies.

haha...well, if you tally up everything on Acura's build it and price it page, the entire ASpec package does roughly add up to 6k. (however, it's the complete front, rear, side skirts, as well as the spoiler, suspension and rims). You could probably do all that seperately for a little less.
Not sure what just the A spec costs on it's own. I'd also check out the Mugen replica that some guy is selling on here. He wanted $800 I think for the front, rear and side skirts (unpainted). That kit looks pretty nice as well - conservative yet different. Not too crazy like some of the other ones out there.
To be honest, the TSX looks better without the spoiler.
I have the spoiler on mine, but it came that way and I'm really impartial as to whether I like it or not. ![Big Grin](https://acurazine.com/forums/images/smilies/biggrin.gif)
As for the fact it's a demo car, well, I'm sure it's going to have been driven somewhat hard. That's a tough call. Check up with him on that - I don't see too many manual tranny demos since most people can't drive one...I'd figure they'd be all Auto. If so, I'd make sure I'd milk the extended warranty out of him in case any unforseen problems crop up.
Not sure if clutches are included in the extended warranty though...I'd figure that would be the single most likely item to go on a standard...

This may sound stupid, but was just wondering how does the bluetooth work for the 06 tsx, cause if drving a manual, it will be hard to talk on da phone @ the same time. So does it mean, i can somehow use this bluetooth for cellphone use?
Thanks
Thanks
