upgrademotoring.com? legit or bs?

so its too late to be for sure, so i'm gonna have to wait and see but...
and its probably a mistake on my side for not doing my research T_T

i was looking for some wheels, and came upon www.upgrademotoring.com ,
and saw a clearance on PIAA wheels. so i called them up, ordered it.

being that i'm from hawaii, i had to call for shipping prices, so they gave me the
option of getting it straight from their PIAA distributer, or have them get the
wheels first and then send it to me. So I opted on the cheaper way, which is
from upgrademotoring. Anyways, they don't do online orders, its all through
the phone. So I gave them credit card info and then they said it would
be shipped once it arrives to them in a little while. the thing is, they didn't
tell me that they were gonna transact half down (which is about $700 ),
and they didn't give me a estimate of when things were gonna be sent or arrive.
so i call them a couple days later to ask them for the status, and they tell me
once it arrives which will wednesday or thursday of last week, they would send it out; and once it was sent should take 3-4 days (business) to arrive.
well its wednesday of the next week, and nothing has arrived. i called them
yesterday and i asked about the status, they asked for my name; as soon
as i said my name they immediately said "your piaa wheels just arrived to us,
and we'll ship it out by tomorrow". *the thing is they have my #, they didn't
even e-mail me, and they knew immediately what i ordered etc. etc.
just kinda weird considering i would imagine others order from them too.

oh wells, if anyone knows if they are a good site or not, please feedback please.

and to those who take the time to read this, THANK YOU!
i dont know, just a little worried about losing $1100....so yea, please have some
sympathy for me. haha T_T

I did a google search for it, and they seem to be in alot of places. There was a post in honda-tech where the guy mentions the site selling torsion bars, so maybe you can PM him and ask.

At work, customers/patrons have their stuff delivered every day. When I scan their card and see their name, I instantly know if they received anything that day (since I had just processed it). Whoever answered probably recognized your name. It's alot of money, so it's not like they have a customer every day.

It sounds like they have poor customer service due to lack of automation. They probably aren't totally computerized, so that their system doesn't automatically e-mail you.

Personally I will never give my info over the phone. You never know if they'll copy it later for their personal use down the line. I do it online, so that if there are any problems, I can file a police report and they can ask for computer logs to see who accessed the information, etc. Also, most systems will charge it automatically and should encrypt the information.

Ask for a tracking number. If they can't give it, then I'd be worried. And yes, keep in mind that you can do a chargeback if worse comes to worst.

you gotta put into account that its this time of year. i got a friend that works at fedex. shipping this time of year sucks balls. even if they send it out. you might get it in january. as for the site being legit. i only deal with companies people recommend. and i haven't heard of the site you mentioned.

mmm yea, except i used a debit card, and ran it as credit so i dont know how the whole fraud prevention thing works for that; its probably not as good as an actual credit card.
and because they gave me the cheaper route of shipment, they are sending it through USPS so theres no tracking #, just an insurance # (or so they say).
hmmm but yea i'll give them the benefit of the doubt till next week.

but yea just a little butt sore T_T
i'm hoping for the best.............

Maybe try looking them up on the BBB web site to see if there have been many complaints and how they handled them if there were some.
