Great, so now we can start another AT vs. MT thread.

Whatever...it just looked like you (and some others) were doing a little too much cheerleading :cheer: for Acura.

Here's a hint for those of you who want good mileage, no matter which tranny you chose: Don't floor the gas, don't shift or cause the engine to shift over around 3500, and dont go 80+ on the highway. I drive mostly in the city, sometimes fast, sometimes not, and I see maybe a 3mpg variation, from 21 to 24, generally. I have an AT. I have 12,000 miles on my car, gas is about $2, if I got 24 rather than 21, I would have saved, carry the 1, about $142, or about $23 for each of the 6 months I have owned the car. For a bunch of people who bought a $25-30k, small, 4 cylinder premium car, which needs the most expensive gas, $23 isn't that much. Skip going out 1 night, and you are set. Or just don't drive so damn aggressively

I like the new Flash showroom. It's pretty cool.

Yet I still see some pics without the satellite radio antenna. Lazy marketing people...

Were it not for the fact that my friend is buying one, I'd like it if they raised the MSRP by $5000 or so.

Same here, and yeah, they still claim it makes an exotic "thump" sound.

Not according to their specs, but I suspect in reality it has since that powered passenger seat has to weigh 5-10lbs. more than the manual one in the 2004s.

If you read the fine print on the 2005 brocure, then you will see a statement that the weight of the car was based on the 2004 model because the acual figures were not available at the time of printing.

I don't have a 2005 brochure yet, and with the scans/pics I've seen here of it I can barely read the regular print much less the fine print! Thanks for the info...

Milage numbers:

I was under the impression they were quoting the EPA milage numbers all along. If that's so, I don't see how it's possible for those numbers to change drastically for both cars. The test is supposed to be pretty rigorous so it's not like they can tweak it to reflect some other driving habits, it can only be done one way. Either they got it wrong the first time (for both AT and MT), they got it wrong this time for both, they changed the cars, or these aren't EPA figures and they don't mean much.

I was under the impression that for brand new models, manufacturers initially do their own milage tests trying to follow the EPA guidelines, then later the EPA does the real tests and those figures update the ones Acura did. I can't help but think Acura had the 2004 milage numbers backwards all along.

This is what it saids in the Acura website under TSX->Engine->fuel efficiency

Estimated EPA fuel economy is 22/31 mpg (city/highway) for TSX models with the 5-speed automatic transmission, and 21/30 (city/highway) for models with the 6-speed manual transmission. Your mileage may vary.

"One Tap"

Watch the video. The part about the moonroof says "one tap opens or closes the moonroof."

Yep, we've know about that for a little while. I probably would have been driving a red TSX if it were offered with ebony.

sorry it's true.

if you go to acura's website under tsx > exterior showroom > doors > moonroof > click on the magnifying glass for features it brings up "auto open - close" > click that and the audio says "with one tap of the overhead controls you can open or close the moonroof"

pretty cool (they probably didn't want to mention that for new '05 features because it should've been on the 04s -- most cars in its class have had this feature since '02)
