TT or TSX?
TT or TSX?
thinking about trading in my 06 tsx w/nav for a 2001 audi tt convertible with 110,000 miles for 15k. still in amazing condtion, i was suprised about the condition personally. my parents are making me sell my car, since ive gotten 2 tickets in this one, and they think its too expensive for me at this age. what car do you think i should get under 16k?
are you serious? if your getting tickets in the TSX, you will definitely get tickets in the TT. besides, as nice as they look, they will fall apart when the glue dries. A friend of mine went your route and ended up with an ever-growing repair bill.

High mileage Audi for the loss. It's not a good idea to buy an Audi with such high miles.
Stop speeding fool. Speeding in a TSX.
What makes you think your parents will pay for a car that probably will cost more in insurance, which is already high enough from your reckless driving.

If it's anything like my friend's A4 you won't have to worry about speeding tickets b/c you'll be driving to the shop at 30mph when the tranmission refuses to shift above 2nd or into reverse...
oops, almost forgot, this has happened to her 4 times now, with 120k on the car.

that's hilarious but so wrong. Tons of parents these days feel the need to buy cars like this for their kids because while they were growing they didnt have such luxuries. Anyways..just slow your ass down or you'll end up in a civic..You'll need 5 jobs to afford the maintenance on the TT .

Mark my words when I become a parent I wouldn't buy my 16yr old a new car, by then my 14 yr old TSX will suffice.

dont u think its a little early to decide that... i mean what if ur kid turns out to be a responible child that would be able to handle a new car and is deserving of a new car? i think in that case i would gladly buy my kid whatever car he/she wants as long as i can afford it.
if not i agree with u... a 14year old TSx will suffice.
They only way to describe this situation is DUMB. I think the parents and the "what do you expect me to do with a new $30K car that loves to go 80 mph" child need a major infusion of common sense.
This whole "problem" that they're having is jusy plain dumb. I won't even mention the TT with 110 miles on it. That's just stupid.

i really dont appreciate people making fun of my family, go ahead and dog on me as much as you want; but seriously, there is a line that you just dont cross. they believe that getting me a cheaper car that i have to take care of more, will show me more responsibility.

In any case, if you're set on it, be sure you give the repair records a good looking over. I think (but am not 100% sure) that all 2001 TT's were turbocharged and no A/T was available, so if the turbocharger and clutch are original, they may be on their last leg, etc.
I own a 2001 Jetta 1.8T -- same motor as the TT but slightly detuned, only 150 hp -- and I drive like a bat out of hell. The TSX is faster (well, the manual TSX is), but VW's (and Audi's) feel fast, which doesn't help with your lead foot.

What the hell makes you think your parents are going to allow you get a TT if you're getting tickets in a TSX?
