By 2007 all Acura's will have an integrated key fob while the tsx will have the same old key and remote. Why is that? Why didnt they upgrade it for 2006? I wuld do the key mob but i dont want to lose the memory seats.

Integrated key fobs are last year stuff, the better question is why not keyless start. I figure the next upgrade for the TSX will be keyless start. Keys are so 1980's, Acura is very slow to the plate....

wouldnt these new technologies bring up the price of the car to over 30K? then will the TSX still be the "best bang for the buck" or would people go else where.

i'm pretty sure the redesign will hit us in 09 also..

but regardless it's a moot point...

I guess we should all be glad that our cars are so amazing that we can find little things like what kind of keys we have to complain about, etc...

I actually prefer our key chain thing to the integrated key fob. I think its so freaking bulky looking. Am I the only one?......Oh well, to each their own.

My gf's 06 Civic has an integrated key fob and laser cut key. I know changing the key system in a car can't be a small thing, but the TSX key really is "old" tech.

^^^ old but proven I guess. The intergrated key fob would be okay, but all the ones I've seen were pretty bulky for my tastes, but I don't trust keyless ignitions at all. Maybe I'm just old fashioned (at 23...)

Im talking about a integrated key fob with just a flip key...something my old 1996 Merc c-class had. I do give props merc is ahead of the game.

And Acura does this intentionally to differentiate TXS from TL. TL costs $5400 more than TSX, so Acura must reserve some cool stuff (besides the V-6) for the TL .

Automatic locking doors are an example: this probably wouldn't cost $20 to add to the TSX (maybe even less than that), but if you want that option, you need to buy a TL (or get the $55 kit from KP Technologies)

I'm fine with this strategy if I save all that money and end up with a very similar car (and it's more fun to drive, IMHO).

I saw someone turn one of our keys into and integrated Honda key. If you don't like yours, go do that...there is a write up somewhere around here for it.

Keyless starts are okay..but the cars become easier targets for high end thiefs who use laptops. (yes you read that correctly, laptops steal cars now.)
