Question TSX Trunk Tray?

Hey guys, I'm contemplating purchasing the tray, but am curious to if items tend to slide around more on the plastic tray opposed to the carpeted trunk. I know there are benefits to the tray (protecting the carpet, spills, durability, etc.), but I can't justify it if items are constantly doing the electric slide.

heavy things w/ slick surfaces do slide on the trunk tray, you could pickup the 350z cargo net if you don't want things rolling around

Another vote for the tray and your cargo net of choice. IMO, it is worth the investment price.

Won't you hear things knocking against the plastic through if you had the cargo net?

Are you ripping it around every corner and have stuff bouncing around your trunk? Because if not, then you won't hear anything knocking around, even with the cargo net.

someone left a bottle of corona in my trunk the other night and the cap was leaking. i orignally didn't want the mat as they threw it in as part of the vehicle. now i cant imagine not having it. i've driven a few loaners and it's awkward for me now to see the trunk just lined in carpet.

There are four trunk tie down hooks to hold things from moving around as well...

Ever since my wife insisted on putting a new bottle of bleach in the trunk insisting that it'll be ok, only to get home, and find that it fell over, cracked the cap and dumped out everywhere. =)

Always the trunk tray for me!

tray + $3 bungie cords = works fine for me, no need for that PITA net.

The trunk tray is definitely worth it. It's not slippery at all. The rubbery surface is slightly grippy.

After installing ElDude's fiberglass sub enclosure, I could no longer use the OEM net. I just use bungie cords now.

I guess I should get a 350 net and try that.

I purchased the tray, well worth it. Shop around online you can get it cheaper than buying it with the dealership, at least that was in my case.

If you're going to buy the 350z cargo net, make sure to get one for the coupe, not the roadster.

I love it when i go to Home Depot to buy plants and wood chips... the liner protects the cloth on the bottom and sides of the trunk.

I highly recommend it!

One nice beni for me having the OEM net installed when making the grocery run I simply place all the bags across the back of the trunk and drive off. Never had a problem tipping over a bag and I still have most of the truck open. It's like having two separate trunks.

Not to hijack the thread...
But cool... a fellow lawrenceviller... hehe

By the way... are you actually typing your links for your signature after every post? You can add a signature you know. Goto user CP and set one up. Then after every post just check the box that says "use signature". No need to type it in everytime.

For those with the 350z cargo net... does it lay "across" the trunk, or does it create another "compartment" like the OEM version does? I've heard the OEM net is a PITA to install, but I don't want to pick up a 350z one if I can't even use it to store groceries in, for example...

Not to really hijack your thread but how do you guys like it in the Atlanta area? I might move out there in the next year or 2 but I know nothing about it. Other than the humidity is really high? Looks like a really nice area with alot of pretty scenery. Trees, hills, greenery etc... Where I live now, it's really bland. Nothing but alot of farmland and its flat as a pan cake.

I just use some bungie cords that I bought from target. They are adjustable ones and I hook them on the little silver hooks already in the trunk. They hold my sub in place great!

YEAH! I have the same question. ^^^

I know how the OEM one works since I have that in my Accord coupe-- it makes a moveable vertical wall that snugs up against the rear of the trunk using 8 available hooks. and it also contains a pocket to hold smaller stuff. That 350Z net seems to just hold things down to the floor of the trunk --based on JTso's pic in another thread. This would be a completely different application than OEM--which I always use in the accord. though the 350z version looks like it covers much more square footage than the OEM.

Can the 350z net be used to make a vertical wall?

thanks, ed

No, it only works flat. The TSX one requires drilling which turns most people off

Just got the trunk tray last night. Thumbs up. Perfect fit - no more muddy hiking boots or running shoes dirtying the carpet in the truck. Not that I'm, ahh, obsessive about that or anything.

Picked up the cargo net too...not much in the way of instructions for drilling. Woof. That will go in this coming weekend.

Cargo tray

I highly recommend it, any spills, grass from golf shoes, etc are simple to clean up.
