Range reset

Do you have to fill up the tank in order to “reset “ the range readings from the display (MID?)? I was running low on gas, I added a couple of gallons so I could fill up at another gas station. The range did not change, and eventually I drove another 30 miles after the range was 0. It was still calculating mpg, even though the tank was “empty” . I don't want to reset the display till I reach around 1K miles. The car is an 05 with Navi.

i believe you have to fill up for the range to reset. i haven't reset since like december, but the range always goes back to ~400-ish when i fill up (i always fill up, not add 2 gallons at a time)

Most of the time I fill up. I just put enough to get to my favorite refill/rest stop on the way back to MD from the inlaws. When I fill up it goes up to ~400-ish too. Thanks.

AFAIK Trip A & B have to be reset manually. The driver preferences resets the range, mpg, time and avg speed on the MID.
