TSX & Thule

I would like to put my Thule rack on my tsx, but Thule doesnt have any info for '04 cars yet, I have emailed them and am waiting for an answer. I was wondering if the '03 Accords from Japan & Europe were the same body as the '04 TSX? I was thinking I could get the fit kit from Japan or France off their website.

Any ideas or suggestion would be great, as long as they dont include: getting a Yakima rack, trailer hitch or trunk rack

In case anyone cares here is the info from Thule:

The fit for the TSX is the 400 Aero Foot Pack, the Fit Kit 2137 and a pair of
50" Load Bars. The installation has a 165 lbs load limit and is recommended for
bikes, skis, snowboards and baskets only due to the 22.5" bar spread (the
distance between the front and rear bars).

Thanks Virus7 for doing the leg work. I, too, have been waiting for the automated email from the Thule site. I gave up my old rack when I sold my Maxima and now am stranded waiting for Thule. Please update as soon as you get new info. I think my old bar spread was 24" and am hoping I can still carry my kayak with the 22.5" spread for the TSX (even though it isn't recommended). I hate how so many Honda products require such short bar spreads. Don't they know how many other things we like to do? Sheesh! Thanks again.

Off topic, but I do have a semi-complete Yakima 50" round bar, fairing, Q-Tower setup. Even with the 2-door extenders. I'm not planning on using it anytime soon.

I have not checked fitment of it, but it did work on my '99 Accord 4-door.

After waiting for 3 days, I decided to call thule back and I guess they are waiting for a shippment from sweden on the 2137 fit kit. Then they should be able to update their website with fit info. The guy had no info on a timeline for all of this. I will update this thread when I get any more info.

well still no date from Thule on the fit kit release date, was told I would hear something by tomorrow. It does use the 871 (medium) fairing. Will post when I hear something. My poor bike is anxious and soon my skis and snowboard will be too!

Well, I had a rack on my '96 altima and when I took it off after about 3 years there were outlines of where the feet of the rack were. I think they would have buffed out, but I traded in the car so I didnt spend any time on it. I think if you put a good coat of polymer on it before you installed it things would be a little better. Also just watch out for the skis, snowboards, bikes, or whatever is going up there, I think that things get scratched when people are putting their stuff up there.

Virus7,

Why no Yakima? I have a Thule box that I want to use, but Thule's fit only provides for 22.5" spread. Yakima's fit provides another few inches which would allow me to put my box on the roof. Euro Honda makes a GREAT looking rack for the Euro Accord. I've been trying to buy one from a UK dealer, but without much luck. So I may have to go with Yakima. Any thoughts?

BTW, I'll probably see you on the road. We're from the same town. I have a SS, MT on order with an expected delivery date of next week.

I just didnt want to shell out another $200-300 on a new rack. I have the full setup with my Thule and just need the new fit kit. Otherwise Yakima is the way to go.

Yeah see you around! I have only seen about a half a dozen in the area. and now CGs.

I also had old Thule rails but couldn't get any response from them for a TSX fit.$400 later i have a yakima system and am very happy with it.I did hear from my bike shop that if someone has post '99 thule rails they will mount on the round yakima bars.
Good luck-stewart
