TSX Side Mirrors

I have to admit that although I haven’t read all the manuals yet, I tried to find the answer by reading what I thought were relevant sections. A search in the TSX forum did not do it either. I have a feeling this is going to be a “stupid” question but I’ve had the car for two days and it’s driving me crazy.

I have a 06 TSX with navigation. I’m very tall and my wife very short. The seat memory function, linked to our keys fobs, is something we really use. The only issue is that the power side mirrors do not move. Is this how it supposed to work (driver memory function is only for the seats – that will be really sad) or do I need to enable something.

My other car moves the seats and the side mirrors to their pre-assigned positions based on the key fob that opens the doors.

Thanks in advance.

Unfortunately the mirrors are not linked to the driver 1/ 2 memory feature. They have to be adjusted manually.

No problem... It's unfortunate this is a missing feature, however there are so many great things about this car it's really hard to complain. Enjoy your new purchase!

Hey, if you wanted Mercedes Benz luxury levels, then you'd have bought one and paid Mercedes Benz costs, not Acura TSX prices!

Are you guys sure about that? I have a feeling that the side mirrors are linked to the driver 1/2 memory feature.

Exclamation

The TL has them linked I believe. However as a '06 TSX owner I can swear that the TSX does not have them linked.

An aside...looking for a possible mod for this as well as a mod for power folding side mirrors like the rest of the world has.

that would be sweet. I find that rearward visibility is crap for parallel parking, or backing into a parking spot!

even my salesperson thought it was linked. He had me set up my mirrors and stuff before saving the memory seat position. It doesn't make too much sense to only give the seats and not the mirrors...you might not have to adjust the seat, but you still have to adjust the mirror

Anyone know how the TL manages the mirror? maybe there's something simple that we can add from a TL to our TSX...

It makes perfect sense when you're cost cutting to save money!
I really can't see why people are so put out at having to adjust the mirrors - it takes all of 1-2 mins max.
Really, how lazy do you want to be? Or put another way, if you want laziness by the bucketful, then buy a Mercedes Benz S Class or BMW 7 series and enjoy the privilege of paying for it.

Because it becomes a hassle to adjust everytime you and your other driver switch turns driving?

I don't believe that it would cost that much to integrate the two together.
I mean, you've already got memory seating and you've got power mirrors. How much more complex would it be to combine them?
It's probably because memory seats were an afterthought in the MMC so they went at it half assed

They can't give you everything.....or they would have to charge you TL pricing. Embrace what you have. There are alot of little things the TSX don't have that other luxury vehicles do. But we also paid alot less. But it seems with the current inflated pricing for 2007 models, Acura is moving up so they better include everything in the next TSX model.

Wonder if you can swap modules on a TL for the mirrors?

Annoying. So besides the seats what does the memory feature do?

Just guessing here, but I'd imagine that there'd need to be some hardware in the mirrors themselves - encoders to sense and relay the positions of the mirrors. So it wouldn't be just a chip here or some software there. Same goes for the Reverse Tilt-down function. If that's the case, it wouldn't be the simplest thing to add to the car.

Just be happy with what you got and what you paid for it.
If every little thing that isn't there, that everybody thinks should be there and that they can barely live without were really there, it'd cost a lot more and we'd be complaining about the price, and all the things that we paid extra for that we don't use.
