TSX Service Manual

I got the official TSX Service Manual and I thought I would share some info with you all. I ordered it from www.helminc.com. This puppy is a massive 1928 page tome with everything you wanted to know about servicing the TSX whether it be manual or auto. It also has over 60 pages about the Navi system (with some cool diagnostic tests you can do).

I put up some pics of it here...

http://www.cifrancis.com/tsxman/

It cost $69 (US) which may seem like a lot but the price is typical for a official service manual. After looking at it the price seems reasonable considering the level of detail. I will leave it to the pro mechanics to do most of the work on my car, but this might come in handy for some things.

Here is HELM inc's page of other TSX manuals they have (some aren't available yet like the electrical troubleshooting and body repair manuals)...

http://tinyurl.com/b2bv

Here are some scans of the pages dealing with replacing speakers...

2 Pages on how to remove/replace the speakers (pages 22-256,257)...

http://www.cifrancis.com/acuratsx_sm...udiosystem.jpg

http://www.cifrancis.com/acuratsx_sm...udiosystem.jpg

and the 3 pages on how to take apart the doors (pages 20-6,7,8) ...

http://www.cifrancis.com/acuratsx_sm...20-7_doors.jpg

http://www.cifrancis.com/acuratsx_sm...20-8_doors.jpg

---------------------------------

Taking out the radio and the NAVI...

First you need to remove the drivers side and passenger side trim by following these 2 pages (22-73,77)......

http://www.cifrancis.com/acuratsx_sm...htrimremov.jpg

Then there are 2 pages on how to remove/replace the HVAC Display module (pages 22-267,268)...

Getting to the AMP...

First you need to take out the center pocket...

Then here is the page on removing the Amp...

Just nobody ask me to scan any more pages. :P

I noticed that HELM now has the TSX Electrical Troubleshooting Manual now as well. It is $47.

Not sure how useful it would be to a non mechanic, but it might be interesting.

I will keep them up for a while. It would be nice though if they were saved and linked to locally when there is disk space available.

George - just ONE request. Could you please scan the instructions on removing the A-pillar trim for the drivers side? I want to hardwire my radar detector and run the wire behind that pillar trim, and I want to be 100% sure I am removing it properly.

Thanks!!

michael.

Hi. Would you mind posting some pages from the manual relevant to the automatic transmission's SportShift feature? Thanks.

Kev,

What about the SportShift feature do you want to know exactly?

Do you mean the "Owners Manual" because you don't have a TSX and you want to know how it works, or do you mean from the HELM "Service Manual" that has to be bought seperately?

I have been just scanning the important pages from the Service Manual to help people who want to tear apart the car to install mods, get at the amp, install speakers, adust the lights etc... scanning is too much a pain in the ass to just do it for curiosity sake.

George:
You're right. I don't have a TSX yet and it is a curiousity issue for me. What I was wanting to find out about the SportShift was 1) recommended speeds for shifting the transmission in manual mode and 2)which trasmission is the TSX's automatic: a variant of the new 5 speed automatic used in the US Accord or a variant of the transmission used in the current TL? Thanks for any information that you can provide, be it from the service manual, experience or other sources.

Well the service manual doesn't have that info. You might want to start a new topic and ask about the SportShift mode. I am sure you will get some responses.

George, could I beg and plead you to scan that pages relevant to disassembling the upper center console with the homelink and eyeglass holder (not sure what the official name for that is)? I'm also curious if there's a switched power wire up there? I'm on a mission to hard-wire a radar detector.

Thanks!!!

George,

I just wanted to thank you for sharing that information.

Also, I am envious of your MSM. That was my first choice, but it was not available in my area. I like that it and the CG are unique to the TSX. I think that unique colors accentuate the stylish image of the car. I bought a CG, but I have always preferred lighter colors to darker ones.

Regards,

Joe Kotran

Everyone should have the Helms manual for their TSX. I want to try to install all modifications on my own as well as work on minor issues with the TSX. Definitely something to purchase for any DIY'ers.

Hello George, I need to find the link you had posted for the over head storage bin/ light assembly on the TSX. I am installing a 12 volt to usb adaptor to run my Garmin street piolet GPS. I can't seem to get the thing apart.
Thanks

Since Im a 04 TSX owner do you think the 2004-2006 manual is worth the extra $6? I mean they could have learned something different?

I can't believe you can't download this entire manual as a PDF. You can find most other Honda/Acura's with ease.

^^ look at the FAQ section, look for the link to the 2004 TSX Owners Manual. The '04 owners manual has instructions on how to change to change the filters.

Exclamation TSX Power Seat Wiring Diagram

George, could you post any available diagram that provides the color codes, signals (voltages) and connections for the TSX's power seats and center console? I've purchased the interior from an '06 TSX and I'll be installing much of it in my 1940 Chevy Coupe street rod.
