TSX Roadtrip~

Hey guys, summer is here and I'm gonna go roadtrip with my girlfriend this weekend. Is it a bad idea to bring the TSX to the Yellowstone national park and Grand Canyon national park (animals all around and other risk) ?? Should I rent a car instead? Did any of you go there before? Any thoughts? Or any other nice place to go roadtrip?

Thanks you all for your input!

only bad to go on a roadtrip if you think you're going to sell your car in the near future.

^^I've been to both places in a 1980 Toyota Cressida in the summer (many years ago), and made it back home. Only problem I had was brakes over-heated. You should be fine. Bring an extra quart or 2 of oil, check and top off all fluids. Check that your spare has proper air and you're familiar in changing out a flat. Have fun!

i drive my 06 from Michigan to NJ (College->home) every 4 months, which is 1300 mileseach time.
just covered 2400 miles in 7 days going michigan, nj and boston.
you really purchased the ride to enjoy a great carlife. why rent a car?
of couse you will get some chips and paint scrapoff during the trip but if that scares you, why did you even get the 30K car
i sound like i'm bitching, but hey, go with your tsx, drive it everwhere, experience the amazing mpg, utilize the great sound system, appreciate the automatic climate conrol keeping your ass warm, and you will really appreciate and care fo your tsx more.

too bad Enterprise, Avis and Hertz don't carry a TSX in their line up. I've driven my TL from L.A. to S.F. to Reno/Lake Tahoe, to Vegas and back to L.A., it was a great experience. Take the TSX, you won't regret it

i've been to both, when I was like 10. Whatever, that's not too long ago I guess. Anyways, stuff like animals attacking cars and stuff is SUPER rare, never happened to us. That shouldn't be in your worries. The animals are usually more scared of us anyways, so they'd keep their distance. As for heat, just make sure your fluids are topped off. TSX is no piece of crap, the car will care for itself mostly, make sure you dont dehydrate

I do roadtrip a lot too....I have driven my prelude from wisconsin to Virginia in one night....to toronto in one night....etc....my concern is not paint chips and stuff for this roadtrip...those are minor .....my concern is about animals and heat those kind of stuff in those national parks......

Went thru Yellowstone national park last may in our 06 6MT tsx-no problems whatsoever. Just be observant of the animals-give them the right-a-way. we traveled south to the grand tetons-beautiful. We are currently visiting San Diego in our tsx-drove here from North Carolina. My tsx, bought new 11/17/06, has almost 48,000 miles. The whole idea of owning my tsx is to drive and enjoy it. You can get more damage driving your local roads.

With all the rocks and bugs, I'd invest in a car bra. DD's would work.

There are also buffalo roaming around...just sayin'.

I've taken my TSX to both. Didn't see much in the way of critters around the Grand Canyon, but there were plenty of bison, deer, and bears at Yellowstone. No worries as you're generally in a line of traffic anyway.

I'd be more worried about the idiot drivers than the wildlife...

Drove mine up to Sequoia in November of 2006 for a few days and I had the best time driving through the park, no sign of any bears or animals that would of wanted to attack the car, but we did see a deer and two young bear cubs on the side of the road. Also went to Grand Canyon a few years before that (not in the TSX) and didn't see a single animal!!

Of course there are animals in all these parks but they just say to remove anything and everything from your car so as to not attract bears.
