TSX possibly being discontinued in 2014 :(
Don't know how accurate this might be.. it's from cnet. so take it with a grain of salt I guess.. but I hope it's not true.

"RSX: An entry-luxury sedan will come in the spring of 2013, to compete with the Lexus CT 200h and BMW front-drive cars. The RSX is based on the Honda Civic platform and will be powered by a 210-hp version of the Civic Si's four-cylinder engine. After the failure of the Canadian-market CSX, Acura knows it can't just deliver a warmed-over Civic. This model will be larger and have more differentiated sheet metal.
RSX coupe: Plans call for a midcycle addition that arrives in the spring of 2015. Dealers have asked for a convertible hardtop.
TSX: There is talk within Acura that the TSX will go away after its cycle ends in 2013. Four low-volume sedans that are close in size may not be a healthy business plan."
I don't get why they would bring the RSX back. you could just make a TSX coupe to go along with the Wagon and Sedan. this better not be true.

The TSX is not a "low-volume" sedan - its one of the best sellers - it sells in similar numbers to the TL.
The RSX-sedan may be a replacement for the current TSX. As an owner of a gen-1 TSX, I thought the new TSX was bigger (and could have a V6). Acura already made a perfectly good V6 model - the TL - why start making the TSX into a TL?
The Civic SI coupe already uses the same engine as the TSX so the RSX-sedan rumors may have some truth.

I can see the logic of making a smaller sedan, along the lines of 1G TSX...and basing it on the Civic SI platform. (Naturally, they would have to do more differentiation than they did with the previous RSX.)
As for the TSX, it has become bigger, less nimble and more ponderous. So, perhaps Acura has to rethink its purpose in the lineup.
My question is, what about the JDM & Euro Accord in 2014? If that car exists -- separately from the TL and RSX -- why not continue to do something with it under an Acura nameplate? (The 1G TSX had more differentiation from the Euro Accord than it does now...a completely different dash, with higher quality materials and more features/content. I say do something like that again.)

Honda's kind of screwing everything up right now... Anything actually sporty seems to be made squishy (2nd gen TSX for example...) and they keep getting rid of the good stuff... Luckily (in our case as we also have an '05 WRX) Subaru learned their lesson and should theoretically be making a proper WRX/STi again soon. Hopefully Honda/Acura will learn as well…
We've heard rumors the TL will shrink a bit in size too, which could be nice. So long as they don't mess with it's performance...

As far as I'm concerned the TSX was discontinued in 2009. If Honda's re-considering their recent (failure) direction of making everything big, bland and less sporty, then it makes sense that they'd re-consider where the TSX fits their lineup.

I love the First Generation TSX. I remember the first time I saw it as a broke college student, its an honor to own a 2008 TSX. The second generation doesn't look or have that TSX feel. I would be pretty sad to see the nameplate go, but understandable.

Not surprised at all - the Civic is only a few inches smaller than the 1G TSX and I'd imagine the next Euro Accord is going to get bigger so it'd mean that the 3G TSX would be competing against mid-size cars and not compact cars.
A Civic SI based compact sedan could compete directly against the A3, 1 series, B-class etc which is where the action is moving in entry level luxury.

Civic-based Acura??
The only justification for this is the high cost of importing the TSX from Europe or Japan. I guess it's time for me to look elsewhere. I mean, I love me some American cars when they're built right (e.g. the new Ford Focus), but the latest U.S. Civic did NOT get a recommended rating from Consumer Reports. Building an Acura on the Civic platform is building on sand.

agreed.. I am in love with my 2004 TSX.. just something about it.. the 2009 went away from the roots of the car.. I just wish for 2013, Acura just went back to the 2004 style design and kept this car. It would be a shame to see it go.

I agree with mostly everyone above. I'm absolutely in love with my 08 TSX black with parchment interior and navi. It was my dream car for the last 3 years. It's symbolic of Acura and what they (used) to stand for. Luxury Performance. The 2G TSX just doesn't do it for me. It's too boxy looky and I love how Honda/Acura is stealing the same tail lights from Audi.
Acura ruined the TL with the ugly beak grill (seriously WTF were they thinking?) but now a streamlined beak looks real good but it still needs work. There isn't a wood-grain option anymore for the TSX (TL neither - correct me if I'm wrong). The RDX still lacks chrome molding along the windows ...again wtf? How does a Honda Accord have it and not the RDX?
For me personally, the 1G TSX was the perfect car from Acura. Everything I ever asked for came available. I wanted a nice entry level luxury performance car and I love it.
