Here's one with a side OEM kit:

Here's one without:

See the difference? The OEM kit is a bit thicker and has a dimple that follows a line all the way to the rear lip.

From the two pictures above, it looks like the only difference in the side skirt is that it flares out a little.

Also, the rear of the oem picture is quite a bit higher than the side skirt, so I think it'll drop the rear to the same level as the oem side skirt.

I'm not sure about the front though.

I do know people have elected to only get the front and rear lips...maybe do a search in the photograph forum....

I wish I would have taken a picture of my car a couple of weeks ago for you. When I got my body kit I put on the front and rear, but the side skirts were a week behind. So rather than wait to put it all on together, I put the front and rear on without the sides. The look was definitely incomplete. The front a rear flare out so much that the sides get lost. There is actaully a big difference between body kit and no body kit. The difference was great enough for my oblivious g/f to notice. Hopefully someone that just ordered a kit will be nice enough to snap a pic or two during the install to give you a look.

The OEM side skirts look a little thicker.

You can see pretty good before/after pictures on my web page:

http://personal.bellsouth.net/v/i/vi...it_install.htm

The difference is kind of subtle from a distance, but it is there.

If I were only going to do it part-way, I think I'd only get the front. I think getting the rear might not match the stock sides well. Of course, this is just a subjective opinion, and in the end, you just have to do what you like.

thank you for all the replies! I'm definitely getting the full-kit after seeing some before-after shots that you guys have put up. I just hope my mud-guards dont screw anything up as far as scratching the paint, etc

Thanks again AZ'ers, you've saved the day

Avoid the kit all-together. Just doesn't flow well IMO.

Yeah, I was expecting to get a kit when I bought my car, but the 06 looks pretty good. The more I look at the kit, the more it seems like it isn't worth it. I guess the pictures I had been looking at were all 04-05

I've got an '06 as well and I think the enhancements Acura made for the new models doesn't need an kit.

The kit looks better in person than it does in photos. Now that I've installed mine, I really like it. Wasn't so sure before.

I think the '06 would benefit from side skirts and rear lip, but the front lip for the '06 looks terrible, IMO. I think you're right, the new front looks good on its own.

i don't think it'll work, the kit side skirt is very different IMO, stock wouldn't flow at all w/ the front and rear
