TSX Chick Car Where are all the MEN?
I am in the DC NoVa area, I gotta say. I feel like I am driving a chick car. Someone help me here and make me feel better. I see almost 80% of TSX drivers women.

girls will drive almost anything that looks "pretty"
no sexist shit here, but for the most part its true.

I'm afraid that's the case for those of us that drive CARS (and sorry, it's OK with me). It seems like most guys feel the need to drive a pick up or some version of an SUV (stupe-ute, battle wagon. etc.)(and I always assume the bigger the battle wagon or pick up, the smaller the..... well, you know what).

If it makes you feel any better, I'm a man and like my TSX. I never thought of it as a chick car. It's the first 4 door I've owned, and I can honestly say I'll never have a 2 door as my main vehicle again. Sure I'll take a Viper or something to play with on the weekends, but the TSX has everything I need. It's got decent power, decent fuel economy, it's comfortable, and has plenty of "luxury" features for me.
The old guy is right though. As a general rule, women drive cars and men drive trucks. It just doesn't make sense to me to drive 40,000 miles a year in a pickup truck getting 15 mpg when I can get twice that in a car. Besides, I have no use for a truck.

Ok Ok thank you all I'm feeling a little better. All points so far are great and valid.
Is it just me or are most G35 drivers, BMW 325's, Subies (ugly though good god), TL's, etc..consist of more male drivers?
O an don't get me wrong I love my TSX to death.

Well, I don't know about everyhere else, but here, most of the TSX drivers I see are men. (Could just be the luck of the draw.) Overall, I'm sure it's pretty balanced.
...And of course, some of the women (and men) might be like my wife. She didn't see the point of me switching from my 2 seat sports car to the TSX, ("What fun could a 4-door car be?", she asked. She already had the 4-door, and hers was great for her...never wanting to drive my car. Well, ever since I got the TSX, she asks to drive my car whenever she gets the chance. In fact, when I was out of town last week, my daughter told me she said "Don't tell Daddy I'm driving his car so much".
--And so, whenever she is seen driving my car, does that make it a "chick car"?
The TSX is just a great car and smart, discerning people of both genders like to drive it.

50-50 how I see it, but I see a lot of the younger generations being male.
I used to drive a Dodge Ram pickup which you could consider a more masculine car, but I don't feel any less male-like by switching from my pickup to the tsx.

Only the automatics are a "chick" car.
All kidding aside, I knew going in that this is a chick car, but my previous ride was a beat up 1998 Subaru Legacy, and only grandmas drove that car. So, I upgraded my status from a grandma car to a chick car. Obviously I'm not compensating for the lack of anything.
A slightly more "manly" Acura is the TL, and it doesn't cost that much more. I like good fuel efficiency with a hint of power and lots of technology, so the TSX was the right car for me.

my car is deff not a chick car haha....i mean if you keep it bone stock with those ugly 7 spoke wheels and everything than yeah it might look chicky but a couple nice things here and there make it feel like testosterone is oozing all out of your pores

I don't know where these other posters are that "women drive cars, men drive trucks or SUVs". most SUV drivers in jersey are 4'11" women that can't see over the steering wheel.
i had the same reaction as you though when I bought my 2006 TSX - it's tons of women in their 30s, and then older couples. i rarely see the demographic that is largely represented on this forum.
i've yet to see a female driving my legacy gt, but i also see a lot more TSXs.

I see more females driving TL's around my area then TSX. I see about 4-5 TL's for every TSX I see. Most of the time its a female in the TL and for the few TSX I see its a male. I think it depends on the area. In Long Island I see more females in TSX's in the city I see more males.

This. Even just tinting windows helps with the overall image as a more masculine car, if you're not into modding the car.

Whats there to feel bad about? The tsx is one sexy hell of car! , i dont see it as a type of "chick" car like beetles (vw), jetta's, tC's and miata's..

You're basing it off of one area of drivers. I gotta say in the Bay Area where I'm from; TSX are seems some what balance in male and female drivers. I tend to see slightly more guys than girls, but its pretty much even in my opinion. But why worry about those stuff? Miata is a chick car yet I see a lot of guys with it. I also heard the IS250 is a chick car also. Never heard of TSX being one. But that one comment made here about girls driving whats "pretty" that's actually true. Girls will drive what car that looks "cute" or "pretty". True but it varies from girl to girl.

I live in the DC area too and I understand when you ask if the 1G TSX is a chick car. I have noticed that most that I see in this area are indeed driven by women, but I also see plenty driven by males. It's a great car and the only reason I didn't buy it is because it wasn't available with a V6 engine.
A couple of years ago a friend and co-worker was in the market for a new car and she wanted a TL, but amount she wanted to spend said was for a TSX. After going around with her to test drive the TSX, she settled on an '08 TSX with 6MT. Hope you're enjoying our TSX. It's a great car.
Even now when I look at my TL and the TSX, I honestly would still have a hard time deciding between the two in terms of styling. One thing I'll readily admit is that the TSX is definitely better balanced than the TL.

Before I got my TL I had a 95 GT Mustang 5sp w/ dumped Flows and 3.73 gears. The first time I drove the wifey's TSX on the highway I was like Damn this pulls harder than my Mustang. Needless to say I enjoyed driving her TSX before my I got my TL....oh and before her purple butterfly front license plate.

Actually, my observation is about 70/30 men to women. Except for my color of course (GBM), which in 05 had a different name but it's all "light metalic blue". I've yet to see another guy with that color. All women.

I was passed by a black one the other day and it was driven by a male.
However, at school, one of the teachers drove a white one and parked across the row from me.
Most of the time when I see a TSX, it's in a parking lot and therefore difficult for me to determine whether a man or a woman owns/drives it.
I did see the "light metallic blue" color the other day in a parking lot- it looks pretty good. Local dealer has one (an '08 with Navi) for sale too.

Since when did a certian car define a girl or guy car. I know a lot of girls who drive jeeps and big ass suvs. Besides all of the girls that i know said that they dont care what car you drive. They like if you have one period so they dont have to pick your broke ass up to go somewhere...

The only car I'd classify as truly "chick" is a pink smart. Anything bigger/darker is fair game.
Every car has its plusses and minuses, and you'd be surprised at some of the cars women drive. I saw one behind the wheel of a Lotus the other day.
