TSX 500 mile club

I would like to start an official TSX 500 mile club. I know others have done it. But the requirement to be in the "Official TSX 500 mile club" is to show proof that you hit 500 miles on a single tank of gas. Here is mine! I just joined today.

I think sauceman may have been the founder, but i'm not sure.

I routinely get 25 mpg. Achieved 31 mpg on my way to the Chicago meet averaging about 80 mph; no drafting of trucks either.

However, no way I'd get 500 miles on a take, even though if you do the math of 30 mpg at 17 gallons, it should work, but I don't think I'll test it.

Honestly, other than our word, there really is no way to prove you have gone over 500 miles on one tank! You can easily turn the "Reset with refuel" off, add $5.00 or so more in gas, then turn it back on and get to 500 + and take a picture. The same applies to the second suggestion for non-navi owners.

I personally have not gone over 500 miles on a tank...my personal best is about 470.

los angeles traffic local and freeway combined (i am in traffic everyday to and from downtow LA) give me 21-22 mpg .... not as good as i expected, but hey, better than my 16-17 mpg in my CL-S

Trip odometer and your word?

I won't ever get to 500. In it's short life with me, I haven't gotten past about 320 before filling up.

I just filled up my tank yesterday and got 26.5 city/hwy combined. This is with mods like CAI, header, high flow cat, Hondata, shifting at 4k rpm and redline occasionally. I think 500 is very possible if I take it easy.

Anyone that takes the time to do that to be able to brag on an internet forum wouldn't own an Acura, because they would be retards who probably can't drive...

lol...I agree. I am simply pointing out that we don't need to post pics! I don't think anybody is going to lie about whether or not they reached 500 miles on a tank...so our word should be suffice!

I ended up filling the tank up at 516.2 miles.

First of all! It's not something you should expect to do every tank of gas. The key trick to doing it was 1. Filling the tank up to the complete max. (this can be dangerous so be carefule!) 2. My 55 mile drive on the I-5 to work 4 days a week.

We basically have to take your word for it if you claim to be part of the "TSX 500 Mile Club. But I have to say it is somethng that should be bragged about so pics would help us. Especially of the 17-18+ gallons going in to the tank.

Good luck on your quests for the great 500!

The tank is officially 17 gallons, but if you are patient and continue to top it off you can get as much as 3 more gallons in it, as I can on my 04-6 sp, non-nav.

Last week, comming up from Charlotte, NC (I77, I81, I78) to New York, the yellow light went on at 540miles and I filled up in Perryville, NJ (I78) at 608 miles. I could have gone a little further but didn't want to chance it.

Mileage for the 700.5 total mile trip came out to be 33.6 MPG. Most of the miles were at 65 to 70 mph on cruise control. I was surprised at getting over 32 because NC and Virginia were hilly interstate miles and PA was not flat either.

<----Welcome to the club!

I can see getting that many miles in a tsx on a nice road trip. I've driven that route in an F-150 with a loaded trailer and was getting like 13mpg. Lots-o-hills!

I got over 500 my first tank full. But that was on a 700+ mile interstate highway drive. And I was taking it easy as I was breaking it in. Since then best I have got was 460.

I must've missed this thread.

Anyhow, my personal best for one full tank was 750 miles. But I know 825+ is possible.

Sauce... I'm going to assume you have a manual, and that you frequently stick it into neutral when you're "cruising" or going downhill...

750 miles... that's ridiculous! LOL!

Well...it's not 750 miles, but I hit 506 miles on one tank. Don't think I could have done it during the summer when I had the AC on. Nav said I got 33mpg, but I calculated just over 31 or so based on a 16 gal fillup. I would have done significantly better if I hadn't done some city driving (traffic jams) in Boston.

My average (mostly city driving) is 18mpg. On the 345-mile Vegas-San Diego run I'll usually have another 60 or so miles left to spare. I have no f'ing clue how you guys do it.

I don't think I can play because I only put gas in the TSX like once every 2 months now.

I just joined the club! Drove to LA and back from SF this weekend and got 510.2 miles with 34.1 mpg according to the computer. Refill was 15.8 gallons. Seems I could have gotten 550 if I tried. Best part was my average speed was 82 mph. yes.. 34.1 mpg going 82 miles an hour! No A/C and drafting was how I got decent mileage at those speeds. I would just find a truck/SUV/mini-van going the speed I wanted and stayed a few cars length behind them. I barely had to touch the gas at all to stay over 80. Man, I love this car.
I have pictures of the nav computer on my phone but I have no clue how to get that to my computer yet. ANyone know how to do this with a Motorola V220. Or I can send the photo over the phone to someone who knows how to do this

I did it, I get to join the club. It was a little scary I ran about 45 miles with the MID saying 0 miles left, but I did it 500+ miles on a single tank. Check out my TSX Avg MPG page. It was done on a trip back to Atlanta for Louisiana today.

Congrats!!!!! WOAH!!! You went 45 miles with the MID saying 0 miles left? That's crazy! The most I ever pushed it was like 3-5 miles. If you can push it that far i'm goin for 600! JK. I haven't seen 500 miles since I started this thread I've been in sub 400 hell ever since.

The MID is BS, I remember it saying I had 5 miles left and it turns out I only had to do a refill of about 14 gallons...obviously meaning there are at least 3 gallons left....That is bc the MID bases the range on previous fill ups. I think the best I've gotten so far was 450 miles on 14 gallons...my average speed was 70 mph according to the MID

Count me in

Took a trip to NoCal Wine Country last week. On the way back went from Santa Rosa back to LA on a single tank. 514 miles and I could have gone another 60. Final numbers were 514 miles, 14.91 gal, 34.4mpg. No cruise control but stayed between 70mph and 80mph. Hit the half-way point on the fuel gauge at 255 mi. and the low-fuel light came on at 438 mi.
