I have a question about this so called Black-box that my insurance agent told me that most Honda's/Acuras after 2000 have. I got backed into by a guy in 2016 Honda Accord while i was parked and sitting in my car talking to my friends. He didn't give me his drivers license info, his insurance info, and gave me a fake name. He offered me 300$ at the scene to fix the bumper I declined and told him I am going to the insurance company. I went to an auto body shop shortly after and asked for an estimate and they told me 400+ to fix the bumper. This guy has filed a claim with his insurance company saying I backed into him, but the insurance agent said that this black box could prove my innocence. (Also he had a lot more damage than me so theres that too LOL) So is there a black box that records information inside of my 04 TSX? Its a manual with no navigation.

TL;DR: Is there a blackbox that records information to see if the car was in motion (or anything like it) during the accident in my 2004 TSX Manual.

There is some kind of recording device in the car's ecm/black box but don't know if it records if the car is not running /off. Hire a PI to retrieve the info.
