Trailer Hitch

The owners manual includes a section on towing with your TSX. That said, I have not found any options for a trailer hitch that is designed for the TSX.

I have no intentions of towing anything rather I want to mount my receiver hitch bike rack (as I don't want a roof rack).

Is anyone aware of a trailer hitch designed for the TSX?

I'd even be willing to order the European Accord hitch (if I was certain it would work with my TSX -- which I assume has different bumpers and other minor changes to meet US spec).

I saw the trailer option on-line from a UK site that listed all of the Euro Accord options. It even showed a cover to use when you were not towing something. The cover was even paintable.

So I would assume that you could order it as a direct fit from some Euro or Asian supplier.

My only concern with ordering the hitch for the European Accord is that Acura may have made subtle changes to the rear bumpers to meet US spec and as a result it would not fit.

I want a hitch that can be installed without having to drill any wholes in the frame.

You can probably have a custom hitch fabricated for a pretty reasonable cost. Check out some local hitch shops and see who does custom work.

BTW, how are you thinking it will attach without drilling any holes?

I think this is the way to go - you don't need a hitch specifically designed for your car, and a hitch for a TSX shouldn't be too expensive since it's a light hitch that can't hold much. I was thinking about this before for the same reason (bike rack), so please let us know what you find out.

On my Expedition and even on my Mazda Protege there were hitches you could buy that were designed to bolt onto existing holes on the frame thus you did not need to drill any holes in the frame to attach the hitch.

I would really prefer something designed for the TSX (rather than letting some guy used to working on F150's mess with my TSX).

Acura should offer an option...

BTW, the fact that there was a hitch for my Protege, a car that clearly wasn't designed to tow anything, should mean that there is a hitch for the TSX (the only problem is that there are a lot more Protege's than TSX's).

It would be nice if it were an option or if a company out there offered one specifically designed for the TSX. I am thinking about getting into go-karting, and plan on ordering a TSX in Feb/March and I'd hate for them to be mutually exclusive... short of renting a truck everytime there is a race.
