Traded in the TSX...

Traded in the TSX... picked up a Lexus IS250 AWD, every option available. I love the Lexus, and the TSX. But needed an automatic for my fiancee. It was a pain that she couldn't drive my TSX. So yeah, got more of a luxury car, lost some sportiness. Ah well.

I pick up the lexus sometime this week, I'll post pics when I get it I'll stay around here though, so don't worry guys! The IS forums arn't that much fun.

Shameless plug, I have some parts left over.. check here! https://acurazine.com/forums/car-parts-sale-361/fs-first-only-us-pond-premier-grille-tsx-euro-r-346433/

I don't have the car yet Can't post pics. Didn't go with the 350 because we wanted AWD, I've heard the IS350 is horrible in the snow (obviously). And we might be moving back to NY, so it's gonna be more important.

The 250 I bought ended up being as expensive as the 350 though, so I feel kinda stupid

Nice.
What other cars did you consider?

I originally looked at IS250, but ended up with TSX AT for the spouse.
Now I am considering IS250 again, new G35 seems nice, maybe even a Camry hybrid. I am looking at 2007 models coming out. Nothing really jumps out at me as the TSX did last year.

Looked at a lot of really really different cars actually... strongly considered the G35 coupe, looked at the new RDX, the TL, the BMW 3 series, and the Mercedes C-class. Wasn't really that impressed with anything as much as I was with the IS. All the little luxury features def make it a nice luxury car.

Congrats on your new car! Now, I just did some calculation the other night - a loaded IS250AWD will be over $40K, right? In that case, I am just wondering why you did not consider the 325xi or 330xi?

boo i think the rdx is awesome and the only way i will replace the tsx is with one witih that engine and i dont think i will anyways cause that means there will be less engine mods with a factory turbo.

Well, couple reasons... 1) I like the look of the IS better, 2) to make the BMW comparably equiped to the IS it would be close to a 48k beemer, and I couldn't really make myself do that, and 3) I didn't really want the maintenance issues that come with a German, I'll stick to the IS X50 which was rated the Lowest Cost of Ownership in its class.

i'm not that much of an INGs fan for the IS. The INGS kit for the G35 is sweet. I love the Fabulous Various kit for the IS.

and you know you will mod it. i dont give you more than 2 month before you make some sort of modification even if its minor. next thing you know you will have the fabulous kit and some HRE wheels lowered 2 inches and showing VIP style at HIN.

I test drove an AT IS250awd this weekend and it felt faster than my '06 MT TSX. And I LOVE LOVE LOVE the ventilated seats. The dealer wanted $38k for the car with navi and as much as I love the car, it's not worth the $8k premium over the TSX for some small but definitely coool features. If I had the money, I would have definitely got the IS250 or the G35c.

I drove the IS350 and all I hated about it was the steering (numb) and lack of rear seat room since I have a young one and another on the way. Since it is DBW steering, parking is a lot easier, but you give up the road feedback for spirited driving. Everything else, besides those things made the car a seriously nice one.

I agree... the steering is the worst part about the part. If I were buying it for sport I wouldn't have bought it. (and if I would have I would have got the 350) But we wanted it for safety (hence the AWD) and luxury.
