TPMS question, pls help

Hi i was reading the handbook and was reading about the TPMS and about the sensor......and for winter rims i might be just getting black steelies......so my question is, would that affect the TPMS? or should i take it to the dealer to get the tires and rims?

Thanks

The TPMS sensors are mounted inside of your wheels. If the winter rims have TPMS sensors installed that are compatible with the TSX, then you will be fine. If not, you'll have to buy a set and install them on your winter setup. This can be done at any tire shop for around 20$ per tire.

You can get a set of 4 off ebay for 80$ shipped

Or you can take a vacation from the nanny state for the winter and just go without. You'll have to put up with the little yellow exclamation point (alerts you that something is amiss), but other than that, you'll be all set.

I haven't incurred any problems, yet, with my TPMS on my TSX. But on my previous car, on a set of wheels I had, I didn't use my sensors and all I would get it is a indicator light.

just make sure the tires you get are compatible with TPMS, if your ordering online , most major websites will tell you if they are or not

For clarification here, I assume he meant wheels. Tires have nothing to do with it.
