TL Loaner vs my TSX
I think we got the better car in the TSX.
TSX wins by nimbleness and fun.
TL has alot of punch, the torque puts you back in the seat but who
can drive like that with fuel prices. Would never need it or use it.
The TL is too heavy, the front takes bumps hard. The motor has a roughness
around 2K rpm where it spends most of it's time in auto. It has more rattles
than TSX, actually my TSX has none.
The TL's steering feel is too light.
Acura will have to go to rear wheel drive for this much motor, and I never
liked V6's, the worst dynamic balanced configuration.
I think the TSX is a better package, the right size weight and balance.
Tossable and fun.

blah, what an ugly car. and how does it compare to a tsx? i dont understand at all. its turbo, awd, bla bla bla....
unreliable, ugly design, cheap interior, subaru will never be a luxury brand car. SAME AS FOR KIA and HYUNDAI. stop making them with LEATHER. igdhsaofhdsafdsadsa

I've driven the TL pretty extensively (I love scaring the salespeople
less when I go barreling down the freeway on-ramp or around corners ![Chuckle](https://acurazine.com/forums/images/smilies/chuckle.gif)
But I must say, the TL definitely is not as nimble as the TSX and the steering is much more boosted. Fast car (and way better than the Legacy GT) but not what I'm looking for in my personal transportation.

TL is nice i think. but like my TSX more. its age appropriate for me. people still say i have a family car but they'll see in a few months.
i was lookin at some specs on the TL and the TSX and noticed that they are only 3" difference in length. i would have guess different cause the TL looks so much bigger and longer.

Don't ever compare a Subaru with an Acura.
Subaru may have some fast turbocharged cars, but Subaru's interior quality is only up to par with Kias.
Plus I have yet to see Subaru develop an efficient N/A engine.

Kias haha I like that but to tell you the truth your right. Subaru is nothing without the turbocharged engine i mean come on a TL with all wheel drive and turbocharged

My TSX at 7100K is definitly smoother than the TL Loaner I had at redline (whatever it was).
Honda is the master of the 4 banger. I wonder, everytime I drive my TSX, what kind of advanced engineering capability Honda must have to achieve the smoothness that other manufacturer's must dream about.
I also recently drove a domestic with a 3.1L GM V6. All I can say is

as long as the TL looks like a grand prix from the rear, i'm out.
however subarus got dragged into this thread, i'm not sure. to compare any subaru to the TL is not really fair to either company. if you need an AWD drive, it's hard to beat the subies for the dough. and as for subies not having decent naturally aspirated engines, i think that's false.
my recent car lineage has been this:
'96 subaru outback --> '99 accord ex v6 sedan --> wreck --> '00 accord ex v6 sedan --> '03 pilot ex-l res --> on the brink of buying an '05 tsx. in this time my wife has owned a maxima and a crv.
i have to say that the subie was the most fun to drive of any of these. the low end torque on their 4 cyl boxer engine, turbo or not (mine was not... if i recall correctly it was rated at 160hp) was sweet. coupled with the awd and the low center of gravity (for an suv type of vehicle) made for good stuff.
don't take this the wrong way... i'm on this board cuz i'm gonna buy a tsx. i'm now a honda guy cuz i've come to terms with the fact that i'm not going to hold on to any ride for more than 2-3 years. the resale on subies sucks, especially in texas. hondas not only last forever, they hold their value in sick fashion so if you're gonna want something else quickly, you minimize the losses.
however, if awd was a must, the subies would be near the top of my list. if i needed awd AND i was the type to hold on to a car for 6+ years, i wouldn't look at any other make.

Honda is the best at car period. The V6 or 4 which ever it is and it a Honda you have a great car. Some kind of modding can be done. As for the subaru the only reason I would by one is for the AWD. But then what if HONDA start doing that with there cars.

No I don't particularly think I-4 is the best possible but V-6 is not the answer either.
Dont' get me wrong about this. TL is a great motor. I just can't use.
I played with this car and it took 1/2 tank just to work and back. Where my
TSX would move the needle about 1/8 tank. What good is
a motor that you can't use? I don't like the roughness in the motor at 2-2.5k
rpm, the TSX 4 cyl doesn't have this. That may be a minor point.
The TSX has some roughness at idle in drive, 6 speed people probably don't
notice this because I only feel it in drive. Then the TSX motor is smooth and balanced
all the way to redline.
The other point is the TL is off balance. On cruising nice roads is very fine ride, but the
shuddering through the car on large bumps would not be expected in this level of
car. It's too much motor and too much weight up front. It's also on the
recoil that makes alot of noise, maybe better shocks would help this car.
I was refreshing to get my TSX back. In a couple years 230-240 HP will be
a nice refresh but I'll have mine a full 4 years more.
