I got a "deal" from a buddy of a friend on getting tint done. The guy said 140 plus warranty. So far thats the best price i can find around the NY area. Am i really getting a "deal"? what did some of you guys pay? I'm thinking of 35 or 30 on the sides and 20% in the back. I'm gonna try and get them within the next two weeks, and i'll post pics after i get them done.

yeah, that's a pretty good price but sometimes you get what you pay for. i had my Jetta done in the douglaston area 3 years ago for $140 and some of the edges weren't cut straight. of course you could pay a lot more and still have issues, so it really depends.

 

that sounds pretty good...my tints was 169

 

I paid $119 in Tampa, FL. Perfect edges, they cut it using a computer.

 

I thought 35 was legal in NY also....at least for the side windows. I don't know what it is for the rear window though.

I had mine arranged through a friend at Patchogue Ford for $295. They had to look around for someone with experience on the TSX to make certain it was done right.
The dealer would only arrange for legal at 35% tints on back and sides.
Looks great with the Nighthawk Black Pearl.

 

awesome thats the color i have. 295?!?!?!?!?!?!??! That is def the most i've ever heard of for tint, but i guess if it was done expertly and mistake free then it was worth it.

just do 15%'s all around, if you're gonna do it, go all out! And it's seldom you get pulled over for tints anyway. Two of my friends have 15%'s on their celica and type-R and they haven't been pulled over for nothign more than a speeding ticket a few times in the past 3 years.

yea but i have tons of friends that have had bad experiences in the past about bubbling and ripping and turning colors and everything...so if your gonna pay that much at least u know hopefully it'll be done right

 

I know 35 is legal in CT, but the factory glass has some tint in it and this will make them darker and illegal.

 

do u know the percentage of the tint in the factory glass then?
