Tint: advice?

Thinking about getting tint on my '04 CG TSX... this is the first car I've owned so I don't really know what's up with tint ... i.e. how much it should cost, what to look out for, is there danger of it peeling, etc... Anybody have any sage advice for this noobie?

Usually on 4 door vehicle, good 3M or llumar tint costs around $120-140 seamless. I would stick with a good brand, and would get a seamless rear window (no strips) for a cleaner look.

To avoid peeling avoid alcohol based cleaners, don't roll down your windows for the first day or two. Good professional installers should be able to get close to the edge of the window and apply it so that it lasts at least 8 years or so. They will fade a bit in time so if you get a damaged window you may have a slight color matching problem.

Personal thing but I like the same % all around. I go for 35% because it is legal and dark enoguh for me but that is just a personal thing.

For our TSXs, there has been an issue with an inside plastic rain guard that scratches the tint if any dirt gets in the door panels. My driver window has thin scratches the first time I rolled down my windows after getting them installed and now I'm waiting to get felt put on the plastic rain guard before rolling them down again to further any scratches. I suggest asking the tinter to see if they're able to do this for you.

Oh, I have Llumar Llumastar 35% tint and it doesn't effect my Navi or FM/AM Reception.
