Time to change my first Battery @ 118K!!!

First off, its nice to be back in the forums. Its encouraging to see all the awesome threads and knowledge this community has made in the 7 years I have had my 04 TSX.

My TSX has been a blessings and for the first time her battery has given its last breathe. Do batteries even last thing long?

Anyways, any recommendations on what to replace it with?

Good to hear that you had a positive experience with your OEM batt!

Most batts. dont ever last more than 2 years.

good to hear that-the battery on my 06 tsx was replaced by the dealer-under warranty-about 8 months ago. They told me it tested low even tho I did not have any problems with it.

first, this may be a record for the oem battery.

mine lasted 3 years but i did not get any warranty coverage because I hit the 50k mile mark rather quickly. I replaced with an interstate battery. A few more CCA definitely results in easier starts on the coldest days.

there are some people that buy yellow tops, red tops, etc. i have serious doubts that you can "improve" the car much by spending a lot of $ on a battery

recommendation: buy what you can get a good deal on (same or better specs) and keep drivin'...

Do yourself a favor, go to AutoZone and get a Duralast 51R and you will be just fine. Don't be tempted by those yellow or red tops. More than a few on here have had premature failures of those. The battery just sits under the hood and starts the car, no need to get fancy.

I have one in the 06 and it does the job just fine.

I've had excellent luck with Interstate batteries.
