I got this message over a week ago and tighten the gas cap more than 4 times and it still comes up. I come back from Colorado and the start the car up its still there. I go to fill up gas and drive home and the fuel cap message wont go away. I dont know to do.

I've heard people say it can take a full tank of gas or more to get it to reset. I've never had it myself.

I guess it's more annoying than anything. I was gonna take it to the dealer for them to check it out since I'm just barely still under warranty with 49,755 miles on the clock. Though if it's nothing to worry about and will go away in a little bit I guess I'll just save me the trip.

If its been that long, and you're coming up on the end of your warranty then I would take it in. Even if all they do is reset it you then have a record of the "problem" if it were to come up again after warranty expiration.

Happened to me too. It took almost a week to reset. Tighten that sucker like 6 or 7 clicks when you go out to your car. Kind og bothersome... but not a big deal.
