those chrome TSX license plate frames

do these things scratch the paint of the car? i like those TSX plates. but i don't want them if they ruin the paint. i just want to get rid of those stupid 'curry acura' frames. b/c i hate that place.

Just make sure you have the padding behind the plate to keep it from rubbing. Trashing the Montano Acura chrome/plastic dealer frame and replacing with a chrome/metal Univ of Washington Alumni frame was my first mod (the wife's car/school).

Yeah, I put thick felt pad behind my plates. It also lessens the plate rattle when shutting the trunk.

I did something similar as well, lined the edges and a few spots in the middle of the license plate with stick-on rubber padding. No metal touching the trunk on my car!

nice. i was thinking some sort of padding between the frame and car surface would probably help to minimize any potential damage. i will have to do this.

I put some padding between mine and attached it with some double sided tape so there is no rattling.

I was too cheap for felt, I left the 30-day tag in between my trunk and the metal plate.
