Thinking of trading '05 TL for '06 TSX...

Last year I was set on getting a TSX auto for my wife but we ended up getting a TL. Although I'm quite happy, I feel the car is a bit too big (I'm 6'1, but my other cars are small). The changes for the '06 TSX make it look perfect:
-Memory buttons: I'm very picky with my sitting position, and with two drivers, I'd be going nuts without it.
-Bluetooth and aux-in: great.
-More power: I think this will be great for the auto.

I'd be loosing the extra power of the TL and some room, but the nimbleness and the younger looks of the TSX should make up for it

Any others like me?

I guess if you have money to burn, and it'll really make you happy then go for it. If I were in your shoes, I wouldn't even consider it. For the amount of money you'll lose on the deal you could buy an aftermarket suspension and narrow the handling gap between the cars.

I know it doesn't make sense from a financial point of view; once I find the car I like I keep it for a long time (in the range of 10 years!). Still, I would expect most people to think I'm crazy - oh well.

Trading in after only a year of ownership will be a big hit, but people have done stranger things.

The TSX will feel a lot more nimble than the TL but it will also feel quite a bit slower. The TSX isn't slow, but it's down 70hp compared to the TL which you'll definitely feel.

It's likely that we'll see a significant power bump in 2008 with the possible addition of a factory turbo. I think your best bet would be to sit tight with your TL until then.

x2

You've already got a great car. The only other downside to the TL (in addition to what you stated already) is that they're becoming WAYYYY to common.

In SoCal, TL's grow on trees. They're approaching accord territory.

The TSX actually feels about the same size inside as the TL. I just returned a TL loaner car this evening and it really isn't much roomier than the TSX. It feels slightly bigger inside (and feels much bigger performance-wise) but as far as front seating comfort there is little or no difference. Rear seating, I imagine, is better in the TL, though.

But in 2006 the TSX is only down about 50 hp

So are you saying that it'll now no longer be a difference that you'll be able to feel?

Or in other terms, the TL is about 1 second faster to 60.
